Problem connecting Bold 2 to Notebook

Hi,

I just bought a BB bold 2 and would like to sync with my notebook (running on Vista). Installed the BDM v5.0 from the CD given by service provider. After connecting my device, an error message appears saying "BB Desktop Manager Has Stopped Working".

I have tried reinstalling the software numerous times and the problem is still there.

Anybody faced this problem before? I'd appreciate if you can share it here.

I'm looking for a new notebook and I stumbled upon this NEC, which seems like a good buy.

Any reviews? Has anyone been using this? I think it's still new in the market.

I sometimes hear that NEC always got problem. Any experience?

Other recommendation are also welcomed. My budget is below 3.5 k and 14.1" or smaller size.
