In a remote Serbian mountain village, they're cooking up delicacies to make your mouth water - or your stomach churn.

At the seventh annual World Testicle Cooking Championship, visitors watch - and sometimes taste - as teams of chefs cook up bull, boar, camel, ostrich and even kangaroo testicles.

"This festival is all about fun, food and bravery," said Ljubomir Erovic, the Serbian chef and testicles gourmand specialist who organizes the bizarre cooking festival and has published a testicle cookery book.
The food - politely called "white kidneys" in Serbian - is believed to be rich in testosterone. In the Balkans, it is considered to help men's libido.

"The bulls' testicles are the best, goulash style," said last year's winner Zoltan Levai, stirring a metal pot heated by a wood fire and filled with vegetables and large testicles that he said were provided from a state-run slaughter house.

The festival - which includes dishes like testicle pizza and testicles in bechamel sauce flavored with a variety of herbs found in the region.

Visitors eat the dishes with plenty of wine or beer, and cool themselves in a small mountain river that flows beside the makeshift cooking stands blasting folk music. The stalls also sell roasted pig or lamb, "as a side dish".

"I came here last year, and decided to come back," said Anna Wexler, an Israeli citizen originally from New York who's now a member of the festival's jury. "It was delicious. There was testicle moussaka, goulash, stallion, boar, bull and many other things."

The festival also gives prizes to to those who have made the news for being "ballsy". This year one of the unsuspecting winners is U.S. President Barack Obama.

"He's the bravest man in the world," said Erovic. "Obama took over the world at the most difficult economic and political times," Erovic said. "He showed he has balls."

The other prize went to American pilot Chesley "Sully" Sullenberger who last year glided a passenger jet into the Hudson river in New York rather than risk crashing in a densely populated area trying to reach an airport.

Reasons why women have sex

Women indulge in sex not for love and passion, but for various other "unromantic" reasons - including relieving themselves of boredom, out of pity for a man and even to cure a migraine headache - says a new book.

Why Women Have Sex by Cindy Meston and David Buss has highlighted 200 reasons as to why women have sexual intercourse.

While attraction ranks way down in the list, it seems that women go to bed with their partners as a way of relieving boredom, keeping the peace, curing a headache and even as a thank you for a nice dinner.

"Research has shown that most men find most women at least somewhat sexually attractive, whereas most women do not find most men sexually attractive at all," The Telegraph quoted the authors, who are both psychology professors at the University of Texas, as saying.

The researchers interviewed 1,006 women as research for the book, and found some very surprising answers.

One revealed that she did it for a spiritual experience, as she thought it to be "the closest thing to God".

Others listed "cure for stress headache", "to make my sexual skills better" and "for a clearer complexion".

However, the majority (84 per cent), admitted that they had sex to ensure a quiet life or to bargain for their partners to carry out household chores.

"I have sex to relieve the boredom. Because it’s easier than fighting. Plus it gives me something to do," said one of the interviewee.

While another admitted: "I had sex with a couple of guys because I felt sorry for them."

One of the surveys carried out by the authors revealed that one in ten women admitted having sexual intercourse in return for presents, or lavish meals.

Responses included "he bought me a nice dinner" or "he spent a lot of money on me early on", "he gave me gifts early on" and "he showed me he had an extravagant lifestyle".

No breakfast, earlier sex: Japan study

There are many theories on the links between food and sex, but Japanese researchers have came up with a new finding - young people who skip breakfast tend to lose their virginity earlier.

In a study of 3,000 people, those who did not regularly eat breakfast when in their early teens said they lost their virginity at an average age of 17.5, versus an overall average age of 19 for all Japanese.

For those who had a morning meal when they were younger, the average age of having the first sexual experience was 19.4.

The study, backed by Japan's health ministry, was aimed at finding ways to curb unwanted pregnancies. It concluded that a stable home life discouraged early sex.

"Those unhappy with their parents - such as for not preparing breakfast - may tend to find a way to release their frustration by having sex," said Kunio Kitamura, head of the Japan Family Planning Association who led the research.

"If children don't feel comfortable in their family environment, they tend to go out," he told AFP.

Additionally, young people who start having sex early tend to miss breakfast because they return home late, he said.

Japan has one of the world's lowest birthrates as more young people put off starting families, finding them a burden on their careers or lifestyles.

The survey also found that nearly 40 per cent of married couples had not had sex in more than a month.

Respondents said they were too tired because of work or found sex to be a pain, according to the study.

Health issue a factor in sugar price increase

PETALING JAYA: Sugar suffered the highest cut in subsidies and the reasons are obvious – to counter diseases due to “over-use” of the commodity.

A statement from the Prime Minister’s Office pointed out that 40% of Malaysians were overweight or obese.

“Incidents of diabetes are rising quickly. Statistics show that the percentage of Malaysians with diabetes now exceeds that in the United States.

“We must, as a matter of urgency, take every step available to tackle what is clearly a public health issue for our nation. Reducing sugar consumption, among our children in particular, is a step in the right direction,” it said.

The other reasons offered were countering smuggling of the commodity and the subsidy benefiting non-targeted groups.

It was noted that businesses used twice as much subsidised sugar than households, while sugar continues to be smuggled overseas.

“In 2009 alone, smugglers were caught with more than 200 metric tonnes of sugar for sale across the borders,” the statement added.

Tia, who strips in clubs around Britain, has been attempting tricky moves as she battles to get through to the next stage of the popular reality show.

Eel in rectum prank fatal for chef

Doctors had no idea how the eel had gotten into the man before his friends confessed to their prank.

A chef with possibly the worst friends in the world died after a live eel shoved up his rectum as a prank when he was passed out drunk gnawed through his guts.

The 59-year-old man, a chef, was reportedly taken to a Sichuan hospital complaining of abdominal pain, dehydration and a great deal of anal bleeding. He was soon diagnosed as being in a severe state of shock.

Doctors mystified by the man's abdominal pain and anal bleeding cut him open and were astonished to find the 20-inch eel lodged in his rectum.

Though dead, the eel had apparently already wrought havoc on his innards, biting its way through his intestines prior to dying. Internal bleeding and infection rapidly set in.

The patient died after 10 days in intensive care. Police are investigating, and the "friends" are likely to face charges.

The likely cause was eventually established - he had apparently been drinking with friends, and had passed out. His friends had decided it would be amusing to insert a live eel into his anus whilst he was comatose.

Police have reportedly begun an investigation.

The speaker of Ukraine's parliament huddled under umbrellas as eggs rained down and smoke bombs filled the chamber with an acrid cloud. Then the lawmakers attacked each other, punching and brawling in the aisles.

The chaos erupted on Tuesday as the country's parliament approved a treaty allowing Russia to extend the lease on a naval base in a Ukrainian port on the Black Sea until 2042 - a move bitterly opposed by pro-Western lawmakers. Ukraine would get cheap natural gas from Russia in exchange.

Russia's influence in Ukraine has surged since the February election victory of pro-Kremlin President Viktor Yanukovych, infuriating Ukrainians who resent Moscow's influence and inflaming the violent passions that plague the politics of the former Soviet republic.

Naked woman stops traffic

Motorists driving along Chun-Jih Road in Taoyuan, Taiwan, Monday, were greeted by a strange sight.

A middle-aged woman was walking on the street, just like any other pedestrian, except that she was stark naked.

She caused quite a congestion on the road, as drivers slowed down to gawk at her while students were seen turning away in embarrassment, reported Taiwan’s United Daily News.

The cops were soon alerted. TWu Junyi, the first police officer to arrive at the scene muttered “Oh my God” when he saw her.

But he regained his composure, reached into the storage box of his motorcycle, took out a towel and a raincoat and walked towards the naked woman.

However, when she saw him coming towards her, she started running along the street holding her bra and underwear.

Wu pursued the woman, requesting for backup. It took him a while before he managed to corner the woman and tried his best to persuade her to put on her clothes.

His efforts were in vain, until another batch of female cops arrived. They covered the woman up with garments and dragged her into the police car.

Wu said the the woman appeared to be suffering from mental problems and could not express herself clearly.

She has been placed in a nursing home in Taoyuan.

New species of double-penis lizard found

Biologists have discovered a spectacular species of giant lizard - the Northern Sierra Madre Forest Monitor Lizard.

The creature, dubbed Varanus bitatawa, is about 1.8-metre long and weighted some 10kg.

Its scaly body and legs are a blue-black mottled with pale yellow-green dots while its tail is marked in alternating segments of black and green.

Males have a double penis.

It was found near a river valley in a forest at Northeast Luzon Island, Philippines by University of Kansas students during an expedition last year.

This new species of lizard is in the same family as the Komodo dragon, the world's largest lizard.

But unlike its relative, this reptile is primarily a vegetarian, subsisting on Pandanus fruit, figs, Pili nut fruits and the occasional snail.

"We do not think it has a venomous bite (like the Komodo). It is not a carnivore, so it would gain no benefit from being able to deliver venom through its bite," said Rafe Brown, assistant professor in the Department of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology of University of Kansas.

Brown and his colleagues have collected a large adult specimen and studied its anatomy and sequenced its DNA, both of which indicated that the lizard represents a new species.

Their findings have been published in the latest issue of the Britain's Royal Society Biology Letters.

Although the lizard was undocumented until now, local Agta and Ilongot tribes people have known about it. They rely on its meat as a major source of protein.

Brown and his colleagues have also collected specimens in the region representing at least another 10 species -- mostly lizards and frogs -- unknown to science.

A young woman carrying a luxury brand handbag was spotted begging for 3 yuan (RM1.50) on the streets of Nanjing, China.

Yangzi Wanbao's reporter, who came across the scene, walked up to her and asked if she needed any help.

The woman remained silent, looked down and ignored him.

The reporter then noticed words written in chalk on the road in front of the woman. It read: Begging for 3 yuan to make a call or eat a meal, please help if it is convenient.

When the reporter mentioned that he could lend her some money, the woman raised her head but quickly stood up when she saw his camera.

She then lashed out at him and warned that she would smash his camera if he took her photograph. She then walked away.

A few minutes later, the reporter spotted the woman kneeling at the same spot again but this time, he did not confront her.

The reason of her act remains a mystery.-

Car seized after doing burnouts in front of police

A Morley man has had his vehicle seized after being caught doing burnouts twice within minutes this morning.

It is one of 138 seizures by police already this month.

Senior Sergeant Ian Clarke told Radio 6PR the Morley man's six-cylinder vehicle was spotted by police on Abernethy Road, Belmont, about 1am.

The man then drove off but police spotted him doing another burnout a short time later.

Senior Sergeant Clarke said the man, 28, is claimed to have told police he was driving while his licence was suspended and knew he was going to be in trouble so decided to do some burnouts.

After doing two, he drove the car to a Abernethy Road driveway, and tried to run off, but was caught by police.

The car was seized for 28 days under the state's anti-hoon laws.

Of the 138 seizures, 117 have been for driving without a license, with the remainder under the anti-hoon legislation.

Police seized five cars on Mandurah Road within 24 hours on Good Friday.

Motorcycle officers patrolling Mandurah Road claim they heard a car doing a burn-out and saw smoke rising from behind the bush verge that separates Karnup housing from the highway, just after 12.30pm.

An 18-year-old Meadow Springs man drove out in front of the officers and was quickly pulled over and charged with reckless driving and having no licence.

His Nissan Skyline car was impounded for three months.

Four other drivers had their cars impounded for 28 days for driving without a licence.

Previously, according to www.telegraph.co.uk, women with large chests have struggled to find the right support, with many of those with the highest cup sizes only served by specialist bra outlets.

Now, one department store is to start stocking a K-cup brassiere, in response to the growing numbers of women with extremely large busts.

Purchases of bras for those with D to G cups have risen by 50 per cent year-on-year since 2005, and now account for one in four bra purchases, the store said.

Switzerland has probably become the first country in the world to sell extra small condoms for boys as young as 12 years, though the official age of consent in the land-locked nation is 16.

Called 'Hotshot', the condoms - with a diameter of 4.5 cm as compared to a standard cap's 5.2 cm - have been produced after a Swiss government research revealed that 12 to 14-year-olds didn't use sufficient protection when having sex.

PHNOM PENH: Cambodian authorities began a mass killing of ducks Wednesday after confirming a fresh outbreak of the deadly bird flu virus.

The cull comes after more than 15,000 ducks died last week in the southern province of Takeo and samples tested positive Tuesday for the H1N1 virus, commonly known as bird flu, said Kao Phal, an official of the Agriculture Ministry.

He said the sale of duck meat and its transport from the affected villages will be banned. So far there have been no signs of human infection from the ducks, the official said.

At least seven Cambodians have died from the disease since the first reported outbreak in 2004.-AP

The national badminton player won Round One of his bid Monday after his former wife, Faizah Mohamad, failed to set aside Roslin's claim of RM53,460 in losses from their short marriage after the Syariah High Court here dismissed her preliminary objection.

In handing down his decision, judge Mohd Radzi Abd Latif ordered that the case be tried and fixed March 23 and March 24 for the hearing which would be held in a closed-court, Bernama reported.

SEREMBAN: Malaysians, especially Muslims, must avoid being totally immersed in the internet culture, especially Facebook and Twitter, said Information Communication and Culture Minister Datuk Seri Dr Rais Yatim.

He added that facilities like internet could not be accepted wholly because it was a form of business introduced by the West and "Malaysians were just users."

"We are not saying that they cannot use Facebook or Twitter but when using such facilities they must upkeep the values taught by Islam, Buddhism or Christianity to maintain our culture," he told reporters after opening a Seminar on the 1Malaysia concept here on Saturday.

He added that Malaysians who used internet services on social networking sites should be careful with what they see and hear.

"We must be strong in our believes and culture because the identity and image of our country depends on us.
