I was wondering if LYN should implement a THANKS feature just like one on XDA Developers forum.

It would reduce irrelevant post count, keeping the thread clean while still serve of showing our gratitude towards those who shared their insight, answers, deal, solution etc.

Is Maxis BB silently doing network upgrade?

I think Maxis BB is slowly upgrading or had set aside a bigger portion of their network for BB. I was ranting a few months ago when I was trying their BB service in Jinjang and Sg Buloh. Fast forward, I went to the client side few days ago and found that now, Maxis speed is really awesome. It used to lag, slow, keep on changing between HSPDA and EDGE. It seem to be a thing of the past now. Speedtest result is around 2.5mbps, and I did it a few times to verify that it was not the cache that did the speed trick.

I wanna survey and see if most Maxis customer are experiencing the same thing. Competition from Digi awaken their sense?
Besides, it seems like the load of complaints thread for Maxis BB had suddenly disappear.

Time Capsule

Hi,

I just bought a Time Capsule 500GB non dual band. I'm looking for some help regarding setting it up and some advise from fellow Time Capsule owners.

1. It doesnt want to connect to my DIR-655 router, even after setting it up to connect to another wireless network. Any remedy for this?

2. Is it possible to share the internal drive without having to enter username and password? By any mean...

3. Does the internal drive able to withstand 24/7 non stop operation? Im thinking of removing the DIR-655 out of the equation (I dont really need the advance feature of DIR-655 like QoS, DDNS, etc).

4. I read online that while the unit itself came with 1yr warranty, the drive has 5yrs warranty. I have to rip the whole thing apart if I wanna claim after 1yr?

Im still playing with it and possibly more question to come. Im quite satisfied with the transfer rate of 7MB/s either way when I wanna store or copy files in and out of it wirelessly. Its on par with my DIR-655 even when its without 40MHz band. Its really troublesome to only be able to change the setting only when you had Airport installed which really isnt that helpful. Was thinking about bringing the unit out and able to share movies with friends wirelessly without too much hassle.

Capacitor inside a crossover

Hi,

I wanna ask sifu's regarding what kind of capacitor should I look for when replacing a cap inside a crossover. Actually I rip out the xover from my S2000 and found that a 10uF cap is bloated. If I wanna upgrade it, what type of capacitor should I choose? I read on a S2000 review saying that electrolytic cap sucks in a xover. If that so, what kind of replacement should I be looking for?

Driving in heavy rain

Just now I came home from MRR2, and it was raining very heavily. Anyway, I just wanna ask what do you guys normally do when it rains so heavily thats its hard to see.

Personally I dont really feel anything for most of the time because Im used to it. I just hold my steering a bit tighter and continue driving on like 80KMH or so. Just now I was following this trail on cars on MRR2 on the fastest lane at 40KMH. Needless to say, it was way too slow and worse they are braking every 2-3sec. After following for 2-3mins, switch to the most inner lane and guess what, its the fastest lane. The cars on the slowest lane doing 60KMH at least while those on the other two were dead slow between 30-40KMH. What are these people doing there if they feel like they cant see the road. Shouldnt they be stopping?

8600M and 8400M Problems

It seems like Nvidia has the fun of making profit at our expense. The story goes like this where HP in particular (to some extend Dell) are having problems with these two mobile parts that are dying slowly. If this is true, I feel like smashing Nvidia HQ when my 8600M dies.

Soundcard modding

Just need some advice on soundcard modding.

1. What does changing caps bring to a soundcard? If change the value will also alter the frequency thats being filtered?
2. What does changing the caps around the DAC VS opamp?
3. Those small tiny (resistor is it?), issit okay to remove all of them? What are their function and what benefit will it bring when removed?

What I wanted to do is tame some of the vocals that went overboard. Many of the chinese female singers have this shhh when they sing higher note which I want to eliminate. Is it easier to achieve by using EQ/altering crossover level than modding the soundcard? I remember lastime when I was playing ICE for few months, when I use the player's (alpine 9835) crossover, the same problem is there too. But when you use the crossover that came with the speaker, the problem just disappear.
