iPad Air (1st gen cellular) cold not be activated

Hello all, I have a good condition iPad Air (1st gen, exterior wise) however after I updated to iOS 11 previously, it was never able to complete the update. It always have a part where it would stop updating and producing error "-1" if I'm not mistaken. With the iOS 12, it was able to complete the update but when I try to activate it with iTunes or without this error message pops up.

What I do know is the SIM card slot isn't working anymore, and previous googling I recalled error "-1" is FW update to the GSM band data corrupted or some sort. Is there any ways I could by pass this? Jailbreak?

Backup files to external drive

I have ~6TB total file size spread across 3 internal HDDs, 2 external HDDs to backup. I tried the built in from Windows 10, File History. However it seems to use that I can only back up to a single external drive eg. 8TB to cover all of them, which means whenever I pass the limit I need a new external HDD? At the moment I'm backing up manually which is time consuming. What options should I consider?

Eventually I'm planning merge all my 3 internal and 2 external HDDs to NAS, but I won't have a backup copy there right? Unless I do another back up to... another NAS?

Error message while updating iPad Air

Hello all,

Haven't updated my iPad Air for sometime and decided to do so, but right now it is looped in this error and unable to boot up anymore. It will prompt to connect to iTunes .

It was working fine until I decided to update the iOS. I tried to reinstall iTunes on my computer, tried to download the ipsw file separately but still prompting the same error.

Random ping spike while online gaming

Hello all,

I play Overwatch and usually have about 50ms (using VPN). Problem now is when other devices get on the Wi-Fi, the ping starts to spike significantly! Will investing in a proper gaming router with QoS help on this? Or should I buy better modem?

I am using Streamyx 4MB package.

Surveying HD4850 replacement for Win10

Hello all,

It has been ages since I last upgraded my GPU, I'm still using HD4850 (yeap, since 2008 I think?) and currently using Win8.1 and would like to upgrade to Win10. From information I have gathered seems like Win10 does not support HD4850.

So, I'm looking to upgrade my GPU perhaps or should I just disable it and use my i7-3770's built in?

I'm not exactly into the gaming scene anymore, using the computer on dual screen (1440p and 1200p vertical) for surfing, photoshop/lightroom, light mobile gaming on Bluestacks. Looking for some card <RM500 which would be the best bang for my bucks? (I'm sure at this range I could have something significantly better? than my dated HD4850? Its a Gainward 4850 Golden Sample (yeah back in the days they did ATi stuffs).

Hi all,

I just bought a Canon PIXMA iP7270 (http://www.canon.com.my/personal/products/printers/inkjet-printers/pixma-ip7270) which has WiFi capability. It is my first time trying to pair this to my network via WPS which is currently running on TM's bundled Dlink DSL-2640B (software version GE_1.07).

So the instructions told me to press the WiFi button on my printer, then hold the WPS button on my modem. But so far nothing is working out

Desktop hang, unable to start after hard reset

I turned on my PC to do some surfing and within 10 minutes it hang up, does not respond to keyboard or mouse. I decided to do a reset and now it does not send any signal to both my monitors, no able to do any diagnostics. No beeping sound or anything similar.

HP Mini 210-1073TU RAM upgrade

I just received my HP Mini 210-1073TU yesterday and intend to upgrade from 1GB to 2GB. Question now is, has anyone done this? I've opened up and located the SODIMM.

Currently I'm deciding between Kingston 800MHz 2GB (RM159) or Corsair Gaming 800MHz 2GB (RM173) or OCZ Gold 800MHz 2GB (RM173). Now my concern if I were to go for the Corsair or the OCZ, I'm not sure if there's any voltage changes? Or will the heatsink prevent my back cover from closing? Anyone care to share their input? Most likely getting the RAM today.
