Transfer personal plate number to new company car

I'm in the middle of buying a new car under my company and I wish to retain my current plate number. Looking online, the only option is that I must transfer my old car to my company first? Then sell of that car then transfer the plate number to the new car?

Is this correct?

It was the exactly the same reason why the LRT 3 (Shah Alam line) project was recently alleged to have been “cancelled” by Lim Guan Eng.

Back in 2018, after the change of federal government in May, the cabinet led by Tun Mahathir, decided all mega projects that was less than 10% work in progress were to put on hold pending re-negotiation on the prices because it was the rampant practice of the previous Barisan Nasional government for awarding mega projects at unreasonably high prices.

The mandate of the voters in 2018 nationwide was, inter alia, to review these contracts and help administer the country’s finance properly with transparency and accountability.

An example of such re-negotiation of awarded contracts was the LRT 3 project which saw the reduction of the project costs from RM31.65 billion to RM21.93 billion, saving the country a whooping RM9.72 billion.

Another 2 mega projects were following:

1. The Mass Rapid Transit line 2 (MRT 2) where the original projected costs of construction was RM39.35 billion. After re-negotiation, the revised final costs of construction was RM30.53 billion, resulting in a saving of RM8.82 billion.

2. The East Coast Rail Link (ECRL) where the original projected costs of construction was RM65.5 billion. After re-negotiation, the revised final costs of construction was RM44 billion, resulting in a saving of RM21.5 billion.

Therefore, it was not the case of Sarawak being singled out and discriminated by Lim Guan Eng, the then Finance Minister, but it was the unreasonably high prices of the awards that was the target.LRT 3, MRT 2 and ECRL projects are examples thereof and Batang Lupar bridge could be another one.

As for the Batang Lupar bridge project, it was a promise of RM1 billion by Najib back in 2016. However, there was no record of any approved allocation there for in the annual budgets by Parliament.

What actually transpired was that Najib merely announced RM1 billion for the project at the end of 2016 with construction scheduled to begin in 2018.

There was, nevertheless, no such allocation in the 2017 Budget(passed at the end of 2016) nor 2018 Budget (passed at the end of 2017).

Construction did not commence in 2018 even though the change in Federal Government only happened in May, 2018.

When the project was put on hold, the State Government’s reaction was just to proceed with its own State fund in March, 2021.

It is to be noted that by March 2021, GPS has already been part of the federal government for about ONE YEAR after the Sheraton Move in March 2020.

If there were any prior approved allocation during Najib’s regime, why did the GPS, as part of the Federal Government since March 2020, NOT revived the project with federal fund?

Notwithstanding, on a second note, when the project commenced in 2021 with State fund and completed in 2026, the actual construction costs turned out to be only RM848.75 million, which was 15% cheaper than what was initially announced by Najib back in 2016 (5 years ago).

That RM151 million savings compared to the initial announcement of RM1 billion speaks volume of the unreasonably high pricing in the initial Najib’s announcement and the lack of accountability thereof.

Instead of continuously harping on Lim Guan Eng putting the project on hold, it would be better for the State Government to explain to the people why an estimated construction costs of RM1 billion in 2016 could turned out to be a much lower sum of RM848.75 in 2026, notwithstanding that general costs of construction has increased tremendously over this period of time.

The questions to ask:

• Was the Najib’s announcement of RM1 billion in 2016 a highly inflated price?

• Why did the GPS State Government not seek for a re-negotiation for the project in 2018?

• Why did the GPS State Government not seek for the reinstatement of the project when it became the federal government since March 2020 when the said project only commenced 1 year later in March 2021?

Chong Chieng Jen
Member of Parliament for Stampin
12.7.2026

Report vacancies through EIS or get fined

KUALA LUMPUR, June 30 — The Dewan Rakyat today approved amendments to the Employment Insurance System (Amendment) Bill 2025, introducing a progressive penalty structure for employers who fail to notify the Social Security Organisation (Socso) of job vacancies.

The amendments were passed by a majority voice vote after being debated by 13 MPs from both the government and opposition blocs.

The Bill was brought before the Dewan Rakyat today for consideration after the Dewan Negara approved amendments on March 12 to Clause 11 involving Subsection 45F(4), introducing fines of up to RM1,000 for a first offence, RM3,000 for a second offence and up to RM5,000 for a third or subsequent offence.

Winding up the debate, Deputy Human Resources Minister Datuk Khairul Firdaus Akbar Khan said the amendments place greater emphasis on education and compliance while ensuring a more organised employment ecosystem.

[Azahari Hasan (PN-Padang Rengas) said the reporting mechanism should be simple and efficient, as the data collected is crucial for job matching, reducing unemployment and supporting more effective labour market policies.

Nurul Amin Hamid (PN-Padang Terap) welcomed the reduction in the maximum fine from RM10,000 to a progressive structure starting at RM1,000 for a first offence, but expressed concern over the level of awareness among rural businesses, which may be less familiar with the Act’s requirements.

Pros & Cons of buying company car

My old car is starting to give me trouble and I think it's time to replace it with a new car. That said I'm at a pickle where I have the ability to buy it under my 6 years old company.

Problem is my ncd, if I trade in my old car to the new one which is under my company means my ncd is not transferable. So I burn my 55% ncd that I accumulated over 6 years.

Tax reduction isn't alot actually if you see there's 20% depreciation and capital allowance

Looking at it. Should I just buy the car under my name or under company.

CC Application rejected because of Form B vs BE

Quick background. I am an LLP partner but with a partnership agreement that I am collecting salary only and no other income from said business. So I fill form BE. Got audited for year 2020 to '24 and passed without any penalty

Current issue, tried to applied credit card using EPF and upon verification they discovered I'm a business owner, so they asked for more tax receipts and declaration. Submitted form BE and was promptly asked why did I fill form BE when I am supposed to form B. Queue the rejection.

Correct me if I am wrong, Limited Liability Partnership (LLP/PLT) are seperate legal entities and not similar to partnerships and sole prop businesses.

So am I at the wrong?

Suing doctors can be a double edge sword

Some weeks ago, the High Court in Kuala Lumpur dismissed a medical negligence claim brought on behalf of a premature infant against a neonatologist, a paediatric orthopaedic surgeon and a private hospital. The Court awarded about RM1 million in costs to the defendants, roughly RM300,000 to RM350,000 per defendant, placing this amongst the highest defence costs awards seen in an unsuccessful medical negligence claim in Malaysia.

The case concerned a premature newborn admitted to the NICU shortly after birth. For the first two weeks, the infant was clinically stable. On day 13, he became irritable, cried excessively and showed reduced movement of one arm. Blood tests were taken, antibiotics started, and imaging later confirmed septic arthritis of the shoulder joint. He was referred to a paediatric orthopaedic surgeon, underwent joint aspiration and washout, and ultimately recovered.

The claim alleged that the infection should have been suspected earlier, that reasonable preventive steps were not taken, and that treatment was delayed or inadequate, resulting in pain, prolonged hospitalisation and a risk of long term joint impairment. Criticisms of documentation and nursing care were relied on to argue broader systemic failures within the NICU.

The Court dismissed the claim. It accepted that the early signs relied on were non specific and commonly seen in premature infants, and that the clinical picture only became clear on the day the diagnosis was made. Once septic arthritis was suspected, investigations, referral and treatment were prompt and appropriate. The infection responded to treatment and resolved.

Significant weight was also placed on concessions made in cross examination. The plaintiff’s experts accepted that earlier investigation was not clinically justified without persistent abnormal signs, that the antibiotics were effective, and that the child’s condition did not deteriorate after treatment commenced. Allegations of NICU contamination and systemic failure were unsupported, and incomplete records alone were insufficient to establish negligence.

On costs, the Court noted that the case was tried over 33 days, involved multiple defendants, and required evidence from four expert doctors across different specialties, all subjected to lengthy cross examination. These factors were taken into account, alongside observations that cross examination in expert heavy cases must remain focused and proportionate.

The costs aspect of this decision is difficult to ignore. Medical negligence claims are often viewed through the lens of injury and outcome. This judgment is a reminder that when a claim proceeds to trial and fails, the financial consequences can be severe. Costs of this nature reflect the time, expertise and resources required to defend complex allegations, and are a risk that must be understood from the outset.

Got a text today from a neighboring business who's also a friend that he's store room is filled to the brim that it's piling up the floor space that affects operations so he asked me today if I have a space for him to store his stuff as a permanent solution (not temp) and he will pay me. I have a room that he can readily store his stuff. Since this is a permanent thing, his company will bank the "rent" into my company

Question is should I let my landlord know about this agreement? I checked online and it all boils down to my Tenancy agreement but even there no clause for subleting, I don't want to cause a friction with my landlord.

Money isn't a problem to me as I just wanna help my friend. Another option is that I tell my landlord about this, and he takes the money since I'm due for a rent increase.

Am not sure if I'm the only one but I have noticed scrolling in individual topics in /k is causing a lag for 1 to 2 seconds. I have cleared cache in Google chrome and it still persists. I suspect its the ads being loaded that is causing the lag as scrolling in the main /k doesn't recreate the lag

DAP kalah again defamation suit

After 60 days of trial, almost over 5 years, appeal for contempt of court, finally the judgement.

1. Judgment has been handed down this morning in the Dr. Sim Kui Hian v Chong Chieng Jen litigation where allegations involved the misuse and manipulation of Sarawak Government Funds in the sum of RM800,000.00 for food relief during the height of the Covid-19 Pandemic.

2. His Lordship, Dato’ Dr. Hj. Alwi bin Hj. Abdul Wahab, found that the Plaintiff, YB Datuk Amar Professor Dr. Sim Kui Hian, had successfully established an action for defamation and malicious falsehood against the Defendant, YB Chong Chieng Jen whose Facebook Post was maliciously published and calculated to injure the Plaintiff’s reputation.

3. His Lordship found that the Defendant failed to establish the defences of justification, fair comment, qualified privilege, and Reynold’s privilege.

4. The Defendant’s counterclaim was also dismissed in toto where his Lordship found that the Plaintiff’s Borneo Post articles and Press Statements did not carry any words capable of bearing a defamatory meaning.

5. The Court also found that the Tik Tok Video showed YB Chong play-acting carrying bags of rice, wearing DAP T-shirt and there were no recipients of the rice bags.

6. The High Court awarded the Plaintiff RM350,000.00 as general an aggravated damages for defamation, RM50,000.00 as general damages for malicious falsehood and RM100,000.00 as total costs.

7. After the broad Judgment was read by the Court, the Plaintiff pressed relief and gratitude for the long-awaited vindication and said he felt justice was done and seen to be done after the attack by the Defendant’s two Facebook Post that attacked the Plaintiff’s personal reputation as a cardiologist and Minister of Sarawak Government.

8. The Defendant published two Facebook Posts on 15.04.2020 and 18.04.2020. The Plaintiff filed his action for defamation and malicious falsehood on 05.06.2020. The Defendant filed his Defence and also Counterclaim on 06.07.2020. Along the way this Suit was struck out by a judicial commissioner on 12.01.2021 and Judicial Commissioner Alexander Siew also found Dato Shankar Ram guilty of contempt. The Court of Appeal on 18.03.2021 unanimously set aside the decision of Judicial Commissioner Alexander Siew that was found to be wrong in law and the Court of Appeal ordered the case to be heard by another High Court Judge.

9. YB Datuk Amar Professor Dr. Sim Kui Hian stood by the whole process with his Advocate. Today’s judgment after some 60 days of trial in the High Court, presided by His Lordship, Dato’ Dr. Hj. Alwi bin Hj. Abdul Wahab, is testament to the importance of courage and patience in the path of justice.

Still recovering from my personal and professional reputation as an interventional cardiologist (active local and international), Sarawak politician and Minister of Sarawak Government.

We shall continue to stand the ground for justice and the people of Sarawak

https://www.thestar.com.my/news/nation/2025...0000-in-damages

https://dayakdaily.com/high-court-rules-in-...nst-daps-chong/

https://www.theborneopost.com/2025/12/22/dr...fAV0WsKBHGn7Q3A

https://news.seehua.com/post/1421152

https://www.sinchew.com.my/?p=7130785

#SarawakFirst
#jagasarawakbait2
Skh🐝

sos

QUOTE

Another case back in June

Kuching Appeals Court dismisses Michael Kong’s stay application in appeal against Richard Wee defamation case judgement

KUCHING (June 18): The Court of Appeal here today dismissed Michael Kong Feng Nian’s application for a stay of the High Court judgment requiring him to pay RM250,000 to Sarawak Federation of Chinese Associations president Datuk Richard Wee Liang Huat for defaming the latter in a Facebook post.

A three-member bench comprising Datuk Mohd Nazlan Mohd Ghazali, Datuk Dr Choo Kah Sing, and Datuk Ismail Brahim unanimously rejected the Notice of Motion for Stay.

The court also ordered Kong to pay RM10,000 in costs, subject to allocatur.

The appeal stems from a High Court defamation suit brought by Wee against Kong – a special assistant to Sarawak Democratic Action Party chairman Chong Chieng Jen – over a Facebook post dated July 21, 2020, which contained disparaging remarks against Wee and his family.

Kong’s post followed Wee’s 2020 observation that more urban Chinese voters in Sarawak would likely support Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) in the state election due to the coalition’s continued efforts to defend Sarawak’s rights.
