startup stuck right before loading windows.

my acer aspire 4349 running on windows 7.
bios version 1.06
2gb ddr3 ram
500gb hard disk
512mb vram

i can enter bios setup. can change the boot sequence. but when i try to boot from any of those sources, i couldnt boot into windows or even linux running on cd. it stops right before loading windows screen with a blank screen with only a blinking underscore on the top left corner screen.

with knoppix boot from cd, the screen went blank right before it enters the knoppix home screen.

i had it checked at a shop then the technician said i need to change my hdd. bought a new one but still couldnt boot from any source (pretty sure it is not a hard disk problem)

i suspect bios setup problem? but still i can enter setup and had already restored it to factory setting.

my situation:

currently staying in my bro's house in kuching which already has streamyx & phone line registered under his name.

and i have a streamyx acc registered under my name at my sis house in seri kembangan.

the thing is, im planning to switch my bro's streamyx acc to streamyx grad pack under my name, so is it possible for me to have 2 streamyx acc at the same time?

and if it possible, does my bro need to terminate the streamyx acc first, maintain the fix line and then i can register?

is there any streamyx agent that can help me with this?

disable on board vga

a fren of mine asked bout how to disable the onboard vga so he can use the vga on the pci slot. i know tht he should set from the bios setup. but i couldnt run through the bios since im away right now. so anyone can help to point out to the right direction?

[wta] philips sdvd8820 cant read dvd movie /vcd

im using a dell inspiron 1501 laptop. it comes with a philips dvd +- RW with dual layer capabilities.

but currently it cant read dvd movie vcd. but other dvds and cds are able to be read by the drive.
tried to flash the firmware, was successful but still has the problem.
also tried to plug and unplug the drive.

any tips from someone please.

i want to know the owner since the number appeared in my gf's phone bill..

and she did call the number almost everyday.. for a long period. something fishy was going on there..

anyone know how to look for it? or do i need help from the telco insider to give me a name?

can anyone recommend me any fax software tht are useful, user friendly and free maybe hehehe..
I'm looking for a software that can manage the faxes and also print it using a normal printer.
also looking forward to pl who can guide me in using the software.

Have you called your ISP's helpline?: already called, reset port.. still useless.. no offence but the operator only read instruction from the screen.. not much help

Personal equipment
Modem: level 1 wbr 3600 wireless modem router
Router:
Firewall used: none

Problem details
First occurence of problem: first time reboot the router modem
Problem frequency: 99 out of 100 reboot.. the outcome is cant connect to the server
Problem description: the modem cant establish connection to the streamyx server. i tried the same modem and config to dial another acc, at serdang, it has no problem. even it can connect and the ppp lit on, but can never surf the internet. dsl is stable, but hardly connect..
but if i use billion router modem, can easily connect to the internet. =.=

nokia and SE ori warranty provider

so called ori phone come with warranty provided by for example Thorus, Midland and so on...
theres also some shop offer me 'ori' warranty nokia set by Global. <--- not sure of this one. duration of warannty 2 years..

so can someone with a better knowledge than me list down the so called original waranty for nokia and SE?
