I would like to ask some of the sifu's advice here.

I'm thinking of installing a 2GB Radeon 6970 PCI-e graphics card.

First question:

I would like to know if there will be any bottle neck with the below setup.

Motherboard: ASUS M3A78-T
Processor : AMD Phenom II X4 940 Black Edition
RAM : 2x2GB CORSAIR XMS DDR2 800

No overclocking, all stock.

Reason for upgrade: Wanna play crysis 2 with High-Res.

Second question:

Do you think I can play Crysis 2 with Tesselation, DX11, 1080 resolution and maxed out AA? Will there be any lag?

Thanks a bunch!!!

[WTA] Using Wireless Network Connection as default

Broadband provider
ISP/package: Streamyx
Location: PJ

Problem details
Problem description:
I am having a problem, hope you guys could help me out.

I have 2 network adapters connected to my PC. 1 Wireless Network, 1 Local Area Connection(Cable).

The wireless connection directly connects to the router which connects to the internet. The other connects to my NAS (Network Attached Storage)

The internet would not work if the Cable is connected (NAS Connection active). Once I unplug it, internet works again.

If say the cable is in and I try going to a website the wireless connection light doesnt blink. Only the Cable one does.

Now, how do I make my wireless the default connection? Thanks.

Oh and yes, I am running on WIN XP OS

Thanks

[WTA] Airbrush methods & color mixing

Hi guys,

I am having some problems with my airbrush. I don't know why when I color a certain part of my model, the color appears flat. I usually mix my X-18 (Semi Glossed Black) Tamiya acrylic paint with my X20A thinner with a 1:2 ratio (Color:Thinner). When I use brush, the color has the semi-gloss effect. My airbrush pump pressure is about 10 PSI. Below are the pics of my airbrush and pump.

[attachmentid=1506429]

[attachmentid=1506431]

[attachmentid=1506433]

[attachmentid=1506434]

[attachmentid=1506437]

The picture below shows an adjustment screw to which I can adjust the amount of paint that comes out. I usually leave it fully closed so that I don't accidentally pull the button more towards the back while airbrushing. This will cause a sudden flush of paint to come out which may lead to the object having different waves of paint.

[attachmentid=1506428]

I would also like to ask, if i were to spray my car with primer and then with the normal Tamiya X1 (white) paint, will there be any problems? Because when I spray with X1, it will be mixed with the X20A thinner prior to airbrushing. Wouldn't the thinner go through the primer as well?

[attachmentid=1506438]

I also noticed the pump having a little water vapour in a glass like tube. How do i get it out?

[attachmentid=1506436]

Thanks for your help.

Hi, I would like to create logon timings for user accounts in my computer using vb.net 2008 (eg. 8-10am who can log in, 12-2pm who can log in etc). I find alot of articles for Windows XP based machines bt not for Vista.

I also tried looking around for the Active Directory, where I can view all users and input the logon times (similar to what XP has) but to no avail.

Anyone managed to accomplish this before?

Guys, i am having difficulties in getting the available user accounts available in my Windows. Currently, I have 2. Below is the code which is the closest to my requirement.

Dim _RegistryKey As RegistryKey = Registry.LocalMachine.OpenSubKey("SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\ProfileList")
For Each _KeyName As String In _RegistryKey.GetSubKeyNames()
Using SubKey As RegistryKey = _RegistryKey.OpenSubKey(_KeyName)
Dim _Users As String = DirectCast(SubKey.GetValue("ProfileImagePath"), String)
Dim _Username As String = System.IO.Path.GetFileNameWithoutExtension(_Users)
cboUsers.Items.Add(_Username)

End Using
Next

The problem with the above code is that they give me the systemprofile and local service account which is not listed under Control Panel > Accounts. Besides that, only one of my account is listed.

The code below gives me the current logged in user.

MsgBox(System.Environment.UserName.ToString)

I cant seem to figure out how to get the other available users.

I've got a problem where I can't see the Crossfire option in my Catalyst Control Center(CCC). I have enabled the surroundview but still no show.

Also, my device manager shows 2 graphic card (One on board, one built-in). However, in CCC there's only one Graphics Adapter(4850) in the Display Manager option. I have done everything from removing/re-installing drivers but still the same.

Would I need to install the drivers for the built in graphics first, then install the drivers for my 4850? Or do I just skip the built in graphics drivers?
I'm using VISTA. Help is much appreciated. TQ

RAID problem or HDD?

Hi. This is the problem. My PC suddenly went off one day due to a blackout. After that, when I on the PC, there is a 'kek kek kek kek' sound coming from the HDD when the Windows logo comes up(during loading.. something like a louder version of normal HDD reading sound). The sound is from one of the 2 hard disks(Im running on RAID 1) I have in my machine. I removed one of the HDD(HDD B) and tried to start up the PC using HDD A and it started without any problems. Then I took out HDD A and put in HDD B and tried to start up. The PC kept restarting. So I thought my HDD B got problem and went and claimed a new one.

Then I came back, plugged HDD B back in(HDD B is new and no data in it) and the sound is there again. I've even changed the PSU as well. So I took out the HDD B, start up the PC with HDD A and it went in Windows without any problems. (The PC is currently running on Server 2003). I then plugged in the SATA cable for the HDD B. Then using the Intel RAID software, I refreshed the devices and the program automatically started restoring HDD B's RAID data. It took quite sometime so I left. This was done in my office.

Now I'm wondering, if say one of the hard disk containing RAID 1 data were to go corrupt and you start up, does it give any problems(considering the other HDD is fully functionable)

VB6 Combobox to SQL Link

Okie Im having problems with my combobox. Im doing a computer Hardware Inventory System.
The screen(1st combobox), when user selects the hardware, the 2nd combobox will be enabled to allow him to select the brand. The problem is, when he selects any of the hardware from the first combo box for example RAM, the second combobox will show ALL available brands for hardware. Meaning again, Select Ram in the first combo box and the second will show ASUS, INTEL, KINGSTON, HP, COOLERMASTER bla bla bla.
My goal is to only have the hardware brands depending on the hardware selected(1st combo box). Meaning you select RAM and KINGSTON, CORSAIR all will come out. Any idea how to do this?
Im using VB6.

[attachmentid=267213]

The first combobox is linked to SQL PRODUCT_CAT_TBL's prod_desc.
The second combobox is linked to SQL PRODUCTS_TBL's prod_brand.

The second combobox shows multiple records.. Meaning ASUS ASUS ASUS ASUS ASUS ASUS ASUS then CORSAIR CORSAIR CORSAIR CORSAIR CORSAIR CORSAIR and so on.. How do I make it show one of its brand only? The reason it repeats is because the database has many asus and corsair products. Hope you guys get what i mean..
