Hi guys just wondering if theres a way in Perl to tag its warning messages so that it appears such as

Warning: Use of uninitialized value $pattern in pattern match (m//) at filetest.pl

instead of just the sentence? This is to ease identification of warnings with the warning: tag.

Im using the below code to generate a logfile for warnings/errors.

Hi guys, I am planning out a home theatre entertainment setup, but I find it difficult deciding between the below 3 options

1. A single PC with mid-range specs. All in one usage, casual gaming, fileserver, HTPC.
2. 3 separate pcs. Separate fileserver, htpc and personal usage rig.
3. {Fileserver+HtPC} in a single unit, personal usage rig.

What are your opinions on this?

LCD monitor display goes reddish, color distorted

Hi guys, I own a dell 17inch lcd monitor. Just all of a sudden using it, the color distortion came and i checked the monitor settings under properties, the device name which used to be Dell 1707 something turned into Generic PNP monitor. Tried the manual plugging and replugging but it did not help. Any idea guys?

Hi guise, building a new rig for watching movies, surfing and some medium-light gaming. Having a budget around 2k for this.

Intel Core 2 Quad 9300
ASUS P5Q Motherboard
ASUS EAH4850 ATI RADEON HD 4850 256bit 512MB DDR3
2 Sata HDDs
4GB DDR-2 800 MHz SDRAM
A FullTower Casing

Need recommendations for which P5Q motherboard fits the best, got P5Q Turbo, Pro Turbo, E, P5Q3. Searched the site, all looks and seems awfully similar. I do not know the difference.
Also need suggestions for a third party cooler, a reliable PSU and memory brand.

By the way, already have the Q9300 and recycling both harddrives from my old PC. So the budget does not include the processor and the harddrrives.
