Annuities

Hi guys, I am currently looking at annuities to add to my portfolio for some stability in my 50s.

I've spoken to Tokio Marine and have made appointments with Manulife and GE.

I've done my homework on TM's annuity and it seems that it can't beat my FD earnings at 3.8%..

Anyone know of any good annuities with a guaranteed cash payment component + a non-guaranteed cash bonus part which doesn't invest in mutual funds?

Any thoughts and/or advice are greatly appreciated.

My First Property

Hi all, this is my first time purchasing a property.
The purpose of me posting this play by play of my purchase is to solicit as much advice as i can from the sifus here along the way.

So, details of the property are:

Title: Master (developer has submitted application for strata)
Sqft: 900
Type: Walk-up (Highest Floor)
Rental: RM900
Purchase price : RM195,000
Loan approved (21 May 2014) : RM179,603
(includes legal and valuation fee)

Offer letter signed on 12 May 2014. Seller and I have a verbal agreement that she will keep the refrigerator and TV.
Just received sms today from Maybank on my loan approval, was quite surprised as i was told it was hard to get approval for properties without strata title, was ready to apply to PBB and CIMB.

So far, anywhere I could've done better? Moving forward, any advice?

Buying an old second hand vehicle

Hi guys, this is my first time purchasing a second hand car.
It is a very old vehicle, and its in Kedah, I live in KL.
My aim is to restore the car. So...

What I plan to do is, get the owner to send as many pics as possible and then make a decision.
I will then either fly there, one way or take a drive down with my buddies.

If i purchase with cash, am I able to switch ownership of the vehicle in Kedah itself? Will it take long?
And also can I do a search in KL to make sure the vehicle isn't stolen or there are no loans outstanding etc.
Are there any other due diligence that I have missed out?

I've been holding this stock since mid 2013. It's up from 2.5 to 3.75 since then.
Dividend yield is about 2%
For the past 1 or 2 months, Albizia ASEAN Opportunities Fund from Singapore has been steadily acquiring BONIA shares.

Guys, i just received my first dividend from Sunway REIT which was deposited into my savings account.
My question is, how do they know which bank account to deposit the amount into? I dont recall stating my bank account when signing up for a trading account. Or did I? sorry my memory is kinda bad

Im planning to 'set up' some sort of informal funds amongst my family members and would like some input from the various sifus here. The funds will be invested in shares.
