Really slow HDD after SSD retrofit

Hi I have just retrofitted a Sata SSD(Crucial MX500 500gb) into my Dell Inspiron 7447 laptop. The SSD was installed in the 2.5in bay and the original HDD was installed into the optical drive bay via HDD caddy. A fresh install of Windows 10 was successful into the new SSD as boot drive.

Problem currently is accessing files on HDD tend to be very slow read except very small notepad files. Most of the time received error file not accessible.

I have attempted changing the power management to HDD never sleep but doesn't help.

The SSD and files on it are expectedly normal and fast.

Anyone has similar experience?

I've key in account login into d modem web login and set it up similar to my previous Dlink router.
-account nAme, password is correct
- dial up is set to always on
The initial setup was made via Ethernet cable using my laptop and internet can be connected and used.

Problem: whenever I disconnect my laptop from the network cable the DSL will be disconnected. This has not happened with my previous dlink router. My temporary workaround is having d laptop connected all the time I need to use internet for my wireless devices.

Is this a hardware/design flaw? I've updated to the latest firmware and it still the same.
