[WTA] Recycling Vehicle Fluids

Dear sifus,

I have embarked on changing the fluids of all vehicles in my household (all way past warranty period already anyway) some years back, and now have a growing pile of used fluids which includes:
a) engine oil
b) transmission fluid
c) brake fluid

While I have read that some people in the forum drops it off at their trusted mechanics' workshop, I don't think mine will be welcome because I do not give them any business.

Question is, where do I send them for responsible recycling?

P/S: I also have 3 dead car batteries at home due to all versions of MCO - Where do I send / sell them?

Appreciate all useful feedback and answers!
WTA Old electronics

Hi all LYN forumers,

I've scoured this side of the forum for about an hour and haven't found a similar topic so I'll just ask here:

I have been doing some major spring cleaning and found a few old laptops and iPads, they're not worth anything if sold because of the outdated hardware.

All old laptops are more than 10 years old; all having LCD screen issues with 2 having warped screens. Tried booting them up and 2 units struggled to stay on, the others can run so I guess I'll wipe the disks clean after this.

The old iPads are iPad 2 (2011). Last tested after charging and they work, running on iOS 7 if not mistaken.

So what can I do about these old electronics?

Is there anything that can be done because naturally these will be sent to the recycling centre but it might help to know if they still have a purpose and can perform something useful. Suggestions, anyone? Any beneficial recommendations will be appreciated.

Recycling of motherboards

Hi guys, I've searched all major forum titles and I guess this is the correct section to post my question:

Where do I bring my old motherboards for recycling?

I'm talking about really old ones where I've kept them back in boxes after it has been fried by lightning. I also possess some really old graphic cards that are totally outdated (utilising AGP 8x slots) and wish to send them to a recycling centre for proper disposal. Other items include a box full of IDE cables and other adaptors.

Asking this because I believe in correct methods and channels for garbage disposal. I live in Manjalara/Kepong area and would like to know if anyone knows of a centre where I can do my part?

Kancil 850 autochoke

Hey lyners,

Just a few days back the Kancil i drive has problems with its autochoke. Sometimes even after warming up to optimum temperature it revs up to 3000rpm or 2600rpm when the air-cond compressor is on. However, other times after warm-up it's normal, 1100rpm to 1300rpm with air-cond compressor on.
I'm wondering is there anything to adjust this autochoke? Or do I have to replace it entirely...since it seems faulty already? If so, how much would an unit cost, and how long would it take to replace it?}

Any help or advice would be much appreciated.
