We Are The Host, You Are The Guest.

This is beautiful video from Indonesia voicing their grouse of Islamisation in their country. As a muslim myself, this is almost the same sentiment I feel on my own. I use direct Google Translate. Not much differ for original script which is in Bahasa Indonesia. Please be civil when commenting.

TRANSCRIPT: * WE ARE THE HOME, YOU ARE THE GUEST *

- First of all we emphasize that we are the host in our country in Indonesia - in this archipelago - and you are the guest. Our guest.

We are now disappointed that our welcoming reception to our guests is being abused by you and your collaborators here - to change our behavior and the way we are cultured and civilized.

Obviously we have our own way of dressing. We have cultural heritage and traditions from the ancestors of our own ancestors - which are colorful. And we continue to develop it according to the times. Creatively.

You have arranged the way we look and dress. By bringing the name of God and the commands of the holy verses to change the appearance of our citizens.

The God you worship is the god we glorify too. God who does not uniform. God who created man of various kinds. Ethnic groups and nationalities. There are even various beliefs and religions.

Your clothes are like that because you live in such environments: desert and sahara. And our clothes are like this because we live in an environment like this. Tropical regions on the Equator.

We are not a people who are "dark eyes" just because of the beautiful hair of women, with open shoulders and a little cleavage. Also beautiful legs and calves.

After all, why study religion if you can't help yourself - holding back your lust when you see women in make-up?

Actually, what is the function of religion? Can't you just hold back your animal lust?

It's their instinct - girls and women - to flaunt their beauty - and our instinct to see it. We both attract attention in our own ways. In an elegant, graceful and artistic way. Very human. Civilized and cultured.

We are all human. Not the descendants of the prophet and not the sons of gods.

Do not you sell politeness and kindness according to your version. Our nation also has manners. Courtesy. And the main thing is that we have intelligence, have power - cultivation or culture.

God sent us down in the archipelago to become Indonesians proud of Indonesian identity - not to be part of your peninsula and colony. At least your cultural colony.

Currently, some of our young generation society has been corrupted by your preaching and syi'ar. We lost our Indonesianness and became more and more familiar.

We are separated and divided by religious differences from our fellow children of the nation in the archipelago.

Kindness and appropriateness are adjusted by religion, especially your religion. By the taste of Arabia and the Sahara Desert. Not by the culture of the archipelago and the progress of Indonesian human cultivation.

Even though they are both brown and mature, we seem not to be united with our Christian brothers - our Buddhist and our Hindu brothers. We are even marginalizing genuine beliefs from our own homeland.

The official religious officials and clerics, ustadz, are proud to be your agent and cultural agent who remains foreign to us - sneaking behind religious teachings.

Our generation is addicted to visit your country. Some of them make regular visitors just like allied countries.

On the other hand, we were made foreign to our allied countries, namely our neighbors of fellow ASEAN citizens who seemed distant relatives even though our skin color and posture were the same.

We were made so close to you even though we differ in many ways from you. Only religion has the same thing.

We are not religious machines. We have civilization. We are citizens of a sovereign country.

After all, religion isn't everything. Without intending to show an anti-religious attitude in the era of globalization and internet communication in the era of 4.0, it is easy to know that countries without religion can also progress and prosper. Civilized. Highly cultured. China - Russia and Japan for example. Meanwhile, a country that is fanatical of religion is in ruins. Like Yemen, Libya, Somalia and Syria as examples.

What is worrying is that there is a new caste that is systematically built as if the citizens of your country - the Arabs - are more noble than we who own this country. As long as you dress like your country is considered holier - more noble - to be free to break the rules and be above the law.

It is only by dressing and looking like your citizen that our own people call you "not just any citizen".

During the Dutch colonial era, we knew "Londo Ireng" or "Black Dutch" who were not skinny, became the colonialists' henchmen, bullying and insulting fellow natives.

Now we know "Arab Pesek", namely local people who have become your henchmen and thugs - glorify you and have the heart to persecute fellow brown skins - for their own benefit. Also the fear of placing your race nobler and holier than us.

Yes - you have become a new colonizer in our country. At least cultural colonizers. You are not a guest anymore.

You are the invaders who have mastered and gripped the minds of our citizens and hosts and created a generation of "Arabian Pesek" who could come at any time, intimidate and persecute our citizens.

There is even now a clear threat to cut the throat of a fellow countryman - a fellow tan - in order to defend someone of your own people.

**TLDR**

New Education Roadmap by Dr. Maszlee

This is our Education Minister speech on roadmap for our future education in Malaysia. He made the speech this morning at UPM Serdang. It is quite a good read.

It is a very long read and in Bahasa Malaysia.

[attachmentid=10159762]

Here are some gist;

1. Reflect on education as key enabler of Vision 2020.
2. Pendidikan ialah tanggungjawab semua.
3. Hasrat untuk menjadikan sekolah kerajaan sebagai sekolah pilihan, dan mengembalikan wibawa universiti awam dan pengajian tinggi.
4. Tiga hala tuju (roadmap) ialah
- Pendidikan berteraskan nilai,
- Peningkatan kualiti seluruh sistem
- Autonomi dan akauntabiliti untuk sekolah dan universiti.

The rest you can read. English is also being given a priority.

How Come Political Party Can Own A School?

I asked one of my office mate where she will be sending her kid for standard one.

She said SRITI. I have no idea what SRITI was. Never heard about it before but apparently it is big and quite well known. She paid about RM1200 for enrolment fee and monthly about RM390. Oh well, her money. Dia punya suka.

It turn out SRITI is Sekolah Rendah Integrasi Teras Islam. I'm like, OK. Not my cup of tea even tho I'm a muslim.

But upon further checking, SRITI is owned and operate by Parti Islam Se-Malaysia (PAS). They also operate PASTI (kindergarten/preschool). It is a private school.

Honestly I do not think any political party should own or operate an educational institution, especially for primary and secondary education. How are they going to align with national education policy if say like this SRITI which is owned by an opposition party? Government should make sure that there are no primary and secondary or even the tertiary educational institution can be owned and operate by any political party, including those from the ruling party. Political party have their own agenda and it will never align with national education policy in the longer run (especially true if the government keep changing parties that rule).

How are we to make sure this type of school will not brainwash and impart politically influenced agenda to the student? Minister Maszlee must look into this. Political party owned educational institution should be abolished.

Since media people already got corporate sponsors, can we expect inside Dewan Rakyat also will have corporate sponsors like Ogawa chairs for all MPs, better microphones from Beyerdynamic or whatever, running ads display like in football stadium etc? Or maybe Speaker robe sponsored by Jakel...

Come on, might as well make some money with all those live TV screening of the seating for a couple of weeks.

Hello guys.

A per title, I'm currently looking to buy cheap and decent over ear headphones.
I prefer wireless headphones as I love to move around a lot while doing works (standing, sometime dancing to the tunes. )

My budget is at most RM180.

I'm going to use it on my office Macbook Pro for work purposes; video editing, sound track for slideshows and some presentations.

I'm currently interested in Avantree Audition (wireless).

Is it a good option or are there any other option that I can look into?
