Firstly, apologies for starting this thread because I just came out of hiding after years of hiatus from lowyat.

I created a thread to sell my gadget but could not spot it in the list of threads. Figured I did not post but instead closed it after everything. So, I recreated another post and same thing happened.

Appreciate if somebody could confirm that a garage sales thread has to be approved by lowyat moderators before it becomes visible? I mean, I would contact a moderator personally to enquire but as I mentioned, came out of the cave and the forum seems a little alien to me now.

Hi all,

Would like to know if its possible to use SMPS to power up a high brightness LED (240V ac) with car battery (12V dc) as a source?

Most SMPS I've searched on the internet are usually ac-to-dc or dc-to-dc converters. High brightness LED requires ac voltage to run, no? (just like normal home appliances). So is it possible to use these SMPS builds or how do I configure a DC-to-AC converter based SMPS?

GS3 Fast Dormancy Problem

Are any other GS3 users out there experiencing really serious battery drainage?

Is it due to the fast dormancy (FD) being enabled in the phone where as it is not supported by the network provider, hence resulting in a conflict?

FYI, I purchased a GS3 unit from MBF (one of their smartphone plans). So, could this be a case of FD not being supported by my network provider as it did not supply the CSC files?

OR are there any other possible explanations to this?

Note: I jst read up about Fast Dormancy a while ago so please don't flame me if I got this wrongly. It jst so occured to me that this could the reason why my GS3 has been experiencing such poor battery drainage.

Hi, new in this section. I hope you ladies can help me with a lil something.

Planning to get a lipstick for my gf as a gift but as a guy, I'm pretty clueless bout cosmetic stuffs.

Would be of great help if you ladies out there can suggest something. I tried searching from zero on the internet but would like to know more before purchasing or making a fool out myself asking silly questions at the shop later on haha.

Color: something light, pink or nude color? (her preference) I like red lipsticks but thats too 'loud' for a corporate working envinronment (comments?) Well most importantly it should look good on her

msians studying abroad iz updated their status on fesbuk trying to sound like they picked up the local lingo there and looks at u weirdly when u talk to them with ur manglish where as foreigners like arabs,sri lankans,indians and kfcs studying here try to sound like a local here,adding "-lah" to every sentence

Before I begin, is there a Smart Car thread around? Yes, I know there's a search engine and I used it. Unfortunately, I couldn't find a Smart Car thread. So if there is, kindly direct me to it please

If not, I'd like to ask Smart Car owners/drivers/test drivers/anyone who has driven one before, particularly the ForTwo model a little something about the disadvantages of the Smart Car model. I'd like to hear the opinions of those who've had experience with it as I'm doing an assignment on it.
