Karaoke HTPC System

Hi All,

I'm thinking of setting up a home karaoke system in my coming entertainment room for ppl at home to enjoy... I know where to get the BMB amp + speaker systems but as for the karaoke player system, I need some help.

I actually prefer the HTPC type as in Redbox / Neways and thought it would be cheaper for me to assemble my own PC + HDD etc but I find it very difficult to get the Karaoke software and also don't know where to get free Karaoke songs with Video/MTV + Lyrics. Hence I'm hoping somebody out there has done this before and is willing to share some experience. I prefer new english + chinese songs, whereas my parents like old songs

Came across this website via google... www.unifykaraoke.com wonder if it's reliable. But the song lists are pretty dated

Hi Guys,

Pls help me ... my earphone has no sound coming from the right earpiece. Would be too much of a waste to throw it away.... I'm pretty sure it's a wiring issue. Anyone know where I can go to for repair works? I'm from Pg by the way.

Hi... since there's been a lot of subwoofer upgrades lately, I thought we should follow up with a list of movies that will give these subwoofers an excercise and shake things up a bit, maybe with a thundering thump or two

I'll start it off since I'm halfway through a movie now :

Knowing (Nicholas Cage) - Great bass scene at the airplane crash which then exploded a couple of times on the ground. Solid explosions there

Pls share your experiences (stating movie title & specific scenes) so we can satisfy our LFE addiction

Home Theater cum Karaoke System

Hi All Sifus out there... I already have my HT system setup but now considering to add a karaoke function to the setup. I would like to have a computerized system (like that in KTVs), wireless mic.

My questions are :

1) How do I know if my current speakers are up to it?
2) What hardware must I get, good brands & price estimates?

My current HT setup is :
- PS3
- Onkyo 875
- Canton Chronos Speakers (507 for mains)
- Velodyne CHT-12Q Sub

I'm looking to get one dock for iPod/iPhone song playing through my onk 875 AVR...... i got a quote for a dock model a2x, RM430... just wondered if this is the best to get & price is reasonable.

Help & Advice Please? New HT setup

Hi All.. I'm a newbie and planning to setup a 12'x10'x10' room when I move into my new condo in a few months. I would really appreciate some help & advice if you have time. I did some research on the net & hi-fi magazines and so I've narrowed down my setup to the below :

Inputs : Blueray Player + PS3 + Astro + (CD player later possibly)
Receiver : Onkyo 875 / Yamaha 3800 / Denon 3808 / Marantz SR7002
Speakers : Tannoy Mercury F series / Dali Ikon 6 / B&W 600series / Quad L2
Subwoofer : Velodyne CHT-12R / Velodyne SPL1200

Can someone help give me some advice on which to go with pls?? I expect to use it 40% for Movies, 40% for PS3 gaming & 20% for music.

I haven't tested any out yet... I'm from Pg by the way and it's not easy to source for Tannoy/Dali/B&W speakers so if you know where I can check this out, pls share with me la... so far the shops i've been to are recommending the products they carry which are Sonus Faber, Mordaunt Short & Quad.
