http://forum.lowyat.net/ Sat, 13 Jun 2026 02:03:53 +0800 FeedCreator 1.7.2 http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/979817 benq joybook s42 user here. i am facing some problem when installing ubuntu 8.10 and 9.04 alpha 6.<br /><br />first problem ( solved myself)<br />- the live cd won&#39;t boot when u have the default v1.16 bios.<br />-solved by disabling the intel gpu using the xp- bios (provided at the benq website)<br />- set the hard disk management from acpi to ide<br /><br />second problem<br />-the keyboard and trackpad cannot be recognised<br />- on the cd-boot screen, the keyboard is functioning - clear indication that this is not a prob of my keyboard<br />- both of them stop functioning once i get into the live-session<br />- try to switch teh keyboard layout from &#39;generic 105 keys&#39; to other layouts --- none of thm works<br /><br />solution up to now - usign usb keyboard and mouse.<br /><br />hope everyone can help.<br /> <!--emo&:help:--><img src='http://static.lowyat.net/style_emoticons/default/icon_question.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='icon_question.gif' /><!--endemo--> <br /><br /> weiyap_tan Linux &amp; Open Source Software Sat, 28 Mar 2009 22:00:50 +0800
