            <title>Getting keyboard and trackpad recognised.</title>

            <description>benq joybook s42 user here. i am facing some problem when installing ubuntu 8.10 and 9.04 alpha 6.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;first problem ( solved myself)&lt;br /&gt;- the live cd won&amp;#39;t boot when u have the default v1.16 bios.&lt;br /&gt;-solved by disabling the intel gpu using the xp- bios  (provided at the benq website)&lt;br /&gt;- set the hard disk management from acpi to ide&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;second problem&lt;br /&gt;-the keyboard and trackpad cannot be recognised&lt;br /&gt;- on the cd-boot screen, the keyboard is functioning - clear indication that this is not a prob of my keyboard&lt;br /&gt;- both of them stop functioning once i get into the live-session&lt;br /&gt;- try to switch teh keyboard layout from &amp;#39;generic 105 keys&amp;#39; to other layouts --- none of thm works&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;solution up to now - usign usb keyboard and mouse.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;hope everyone can help.&lt;br /&gt; &lt;!--emo&amp;:help:--&gt;&lt;img src='http://static.lowyat.net/style_emoticons/default/icon_question.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='icon_question.gif' /&gt;&lt;!--endemo--&gt; &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;</description>
