Moderna improves forecast for 2022 sales from COVI

Moderna Inc said on Monday it expected to record sales of about $18.5 billion in 2022 from contracts for its COVID-19 vaccine, and about $3.5 billion from potential additional purchases including booster candidates updated for variants.

The company in November said its sales could be in the range of $17 billion to $22 billion in 2022.

Moderna said it was in active discussions for additional COVID-19 vaccine contracts this year.

The company also said it was developing a booster vaccine candidate, called mRNA-1273.529, that targets the fast-spreading Omicron variant and expects it to advance into clinical trials in early 2022.

Booster doses of the company's current COVID-19 vaccine, mRNA-1273, increased neutralizing antibody levels against Omicron at both 50 microgram and 100 microgram dose levels, the drugmaker said.

Need recommendation for a router /modem

So right now i am using the default unifi modem and given router to have internet connection at my house. My brother house is using a range extender to get signal from my connection. His house is about 3 house away so about 20-25 meter away

Right now, We have problem sharing files between our laptop because mine is at a different network than his . We want to set up like a small office so we will have about 4 laptop ,1 printer to be connected at peak hours .

The database is stored at my PC right now but i was thinking of having it stored in USB stick then plugged into a router then so it can easily be shared by all 4 laptops. Will that be a problem?

My budget is about RM 800-1k So i was looking at TP-Link Archer C2600 or Asus RT-AC68U

Maximum height of a wall

My Terrace house share the same exterior wall with a neighbor , But because we are not on the same level ground,Her house is taller than my house so 1 side of my wall is taller than my other shared wall

I was thinking of raising the wall and seal off the gap to make my house look nicer

But i cant find whats the maximum allowable limit for a wall,need some sifu help regarding this

Malaysian Electronic Payment System Sdn Bhd (MEPS) and its member banks will waive the fee for its real-time Instant Transfer, previously known as Inter-bank Funds Transfer (IBFT) service, from tomorrow – Oct 1 – to Dec 31.

In a statement yesterday, MEPS said the zero fee was applicable for transactions on the Internet and mobile banking channels of the participating banks.

However, the instant transfer fee at automated teller machines (ATMs) remained at 50 sen, it said.

Group managing director Zulkarnain Kassim said the initiative showed the banks’ and MEPS’ full support for Bank Negara Malaysia’s (BNM) e-Payment adoption.

“In light of the current economic situation, it is also timely that the banks introduce the fee waiver that will benefit Malaysians in alleviating any financial difficulties,” Zulkanain said.

By 2020, BNM is targeting to increase the number of e-payment transactions per capita from 72 to 200 and reduce cheques from 177 million to 100 million per year.

The 15 banks that offer instant transfer services via their Internet banking are Agrobank, Affin Bank, Alliance Bank, Bank Islam, Bank Muamalat, Bank Rakyat, CIMB Bank, Citibank, Hong Leong Bank, Kuwait Finance House, Maybank, OCBC Bank, Public Bank, RHB Bank and Standard Chartered Bank.

The six banks that offer instant transfer services via mobile banking are Bank Islam, CIMB Bank, Citibank, OCBC Bank, Public Bank and Standard Chartered Bank.

Ibrahim said it was not his fault that he had to keep changing parties as he was a victim of circumstances.

He added the same fate is now befalling several PAS leaders and it should be a reminder to others not to insult those in such a situation.

'Don't judge'

"If we look at history, those who switch parties the most were in Sabah. Even in the peninsula, many top leaders have switched parties since independence.

"Former PAS president Asri Muda formed Hamim and finally joined Umno. Kasim Ahmad was in PRSM but jumped to Umno. The list goes on including Saifuddin Nasution (who was in Umno and now) in PKR.

"But the strange thing is when people mentioned frog, it is Ibrahim Ali. The focus is only on me," he lamented.

Ibrahim said unlike his own situation, the current defections were out of the leaders' own free-will for their political survival.

He also cheekily offered them consultation services.

"I bid those who switch parties all the best and if they need advice, they can contact me as a political consultant.

“I may appear dirty but I am clean. There are some leaders who appear clean but are in fact dirty and have a bad record.

"So to Malaysians, be fair in judging and labelling leaders, do so based on facts," he said.

"A gathering to defend the honour of Malays, even though racist, should be allowed. This is their right," Syahredzan (photo) said in a Facebook posting today.

However, he said the right to assemble can be revoked if there is concrete evidence that it is not intended to be peaceful.

"As a precautionary measure, the police have the power to seek a court order to prevent the public from gathering at an area.

"But it must be stressed that it (any precautionary measure) must be based on solid evidence that the gathering will not be peaceful," he said.

He noted that the rally's promotional material were racial in nature and could cause racial tension and appear to promote violence.

Ultimately, Syahredzan said there was a need to balance between the right to the freedom of assembly and to ensure such gathering do not turn violent.

"One way is to allow the gathering but under the tight control of the police and the Federal Reserve Unit.

"If it becomes violent, then appropriate action should be taken," he said.

It is understood that a performance artist has been arrested in connection with the dropping of the balloons.

Opposition sets conditions to back Najib's ouster

The political grouping also decided on two other matters - to endorse the Bersih 4 rally this weekend and the terms of participation in Najib's political financing reform council.

For participation in the national consultative council on political financing, they agreed to participate on condition that Najib's mysterious RM2.6 billion 'donation' into his personal bank account is first resolved.

Furthermore, the opposition also wants the reform agenda to expand to electoral reform and give independence to the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission and the Election Commission.

The joint statement was signed by Lim Kit Siang, Loke Siew Fook, Teresa Kok, Liew Chin Tong and Teo Kok Seong for DAP; Rafizi Ramli, Johari Abdul, Wong Chen, Sim Tze Tzin and S Manikavasagam for PKR; and Kamaruddin Jaafar, Hatta Ramli and Khalid Samad for GHB.

It was also firmer against the pound sterling at 6.6248 but ended weaker against the Singapore dollar at a fresh low of 3.0026.

However, Chinese stocks tumbled again on Tuesday, despite a rebound in markets elsewhere in Asia.

Reuters reported investors despaired at the lack of policy action from Beijing in response to recent data suggesting the downturn in the world's second-largest economy is deepening.

Major Chinese stock indexes nosedived more than 7%, hitting their lowest levels since December, following their more than 8% plunge on Monday that sent shockwaves through global financial markets.

US light crude oil rose 79 cents to US$39.03 and Brent added 78 cents to US$43.47.

Petronas Dagangan added 52 sen to RM20.88 and pushed the KLCI a hefty 5.8 point. Petronas Chemicals gained 42 sen to RM5.80 while Petronas Gas added 10 sen to RM20.80. SapuraKencana fell two sen to RM1.47.

Telcos were among gainers, with Axiata up 32 sen to RM6.12 and pushing the KLCI up 4.81 points. TM added 29 sen to RM6.48 after declaring an interim dividend of 9.30 sen a share. DiGi rose 25 sen to RM5.20 and Maxis two sen to RM6.45

Among the banks, Public Bank advanced 28 sen to RM17.56, Hong Leong Bank 22 sen to RM12.82 and CIMB 10 sen to RM4.72 but Maybank fell one sen to RM8.31.

Power giant Tenaga Nasional added 18 sen to RM10.54 while MISC was up 19 sen to RM8.01. Genting Bhd rose 14 sen to RM6.74 and Genting Malaysia 15 sen higher at RM3.95.

Crude palm oil for third-month delivery fell RM30 to RM1,886 per tonne. United Plantations fell RM1 to RM25.82, Batu Kawan lost 28 sen to RM17.14 but IOI Corp added two sen to RM3.95, KL Kepong eight sen higher at RM20.34, Sime Darby 10 sen to RM7.12 and PPB Group advanced 28 sen to RM14.84.
