WTA PC upgrading

Hello all and thanks in advance.

I've decided to upgrade my pc after i notice my 6870 running 85+°C playing Dead Island.

My PC specs are
Processor : Intel i7 @3.67ghz
Motherboard : X58A-UD3R Rev 2
Memory :12GB DDR1333 XMS3
HDD : WD Black 1TB x2 in Raid
Casing : COSMOS S
PSU : Xigmatek 750w
GPU : Sapphire 6870

I've done some reading on the 6950, 6970 and also the gtx570. and i am also aware that the 7800 series will be out next month. At the moment i am thinking of 3 options. any input that you have that may could help me out in choosing among these 3 alternatives will be much appreciated.

Alternative 1:
Sapphire 6950 2gb Flex 899 - i like this card cos its cool according to benchmarks i googled.
SSD - OCZ Agility 3 RM369 - should i spend money on a SSD or spend more on graphics?

Alternative 2:
Sapphire 7950 RM16XX - Im really liking the performance on this card. bit it is a bit pricey than my total budget of 1300

Alternative 3:
alternative 3 is something that just came to me a few days back. a friend of mine offered to purchase my pc minus the HDD and casing for RM2000. thus my budget for a new pc would be 3300 and the specs that im looking to buy is as :
I5 2500K - 670
Gigabyte Z68 board - 369
8GB vengeance - 198
Aerocool strike 800W - 470
External writer - 109
Sapphire 7950 -1699

Alternative 3 is not confirmed. but is 2k for the my pc a good deal?
On a side topic, which would be a better choice for a htpc that plays games like League of legends 5770 vapour x + RM200 or a 6870?
