The empty land next to my house in Pahang started to develop in the year 2006. While they were doing their foundation, water starts to seep through our wall. Almost every month we made effort to talk to developer at their office but they did not respond positively.

As the building take shape, the problem of which the water seeps through our wall from front to back, i.e. car porch to the kitchen were all damped and wet! We took the matter up to them (developer) again in 2007 about the seriousness that has happened to our wall but fell to deaf ears.

Later in the years, after much complains and bringing up to our local council in 2007 which is Majlis Perbandaran Temerloh. They sent their contractor to paint up the wall but sad to say, about 2 months later the problem still exist. We brought the matter up again to both the developer and the local council and until today they failed to rectify.

We have not requested any compensation at all. We only wish our house is restored to its normal state. Apparently, right now, the situation of our wall has worsened; more cracks and certain parts of the wall are still wet.

We have only requested a five year guarantee from the developer but they have turned us down instead. Quoting us with some housing act through our local council that their guarantees will hold 2 years only. We are only a commoner and would not understand if that act / law they quoted is applicable in this situation. Largely, this is because our house is an old house and it is not built by the said developer. What we understand that said act applies only to building they newly built.

We are the victims from this whole scenario. We find from the last letter from our local council has shown they are very annoyed over this matter and trying to quickly shelf this problem away.

Dear friends, we are only ‘David’, we can’t deal with this ‘Goliath’ financially, legally or whatever you can say. We are the little people. We appeal for help, assistance, from anyone out there who can see to some justice done to this matter and whosoever require documentation to substantiate our claim. We'd be too happy to provide the needful.

Please give due and sympathetic consideration to come up and help us as every bit.
