Shipping guitar from Malaysia to Canada

Hi, I'm planning to ship my guitar from Malaysia to Canada... it's a classical guitar and is worth quite a lot (RM5k~)

Can anyone please advise me on the best service available? DHL is crazy expensive, they're charging RM1.4k for air-flown service, I don't need it to be fast, shipping speed is not a problem at all I am willing to wait months.

For such an expensive piece of instrument, I believe getting an insurance is important? Any recommendations on how should I go about this?

Thanks

Hi, I'm using Windows 7 Home Premium and Microsoft Security Essentials.

Lately, MSE keeps detecting worm:win32/conficker.B!inf

Thus, I removed it.

Then when I reboot my laptop, the same thing happens, it never really goes away.

Any ideas? Any log files that I should provide? (Provide instructions on how to provide the log files too, thanks. )

EDIT: There are no classic symptoms of Conficker worm, e.g. My Windows Update works fine, no funny blue screens etc. My computer doesn't slow down.

How do I complain U Mobile to MCMC?

Hi,

I bought U Mobile Postpaid Broadband at around June 2011. When I registered with dealer (not official U Mobile centre), I paid RM100 ACTIVATION FEE. But it was keyed in wrong to become DEPOSIT.

So my bill is charged extra rm100 from June last year till today. But I never pay, I just pay regularly RM68. But now they change their bill structure, if I don't pay, they cut off my line in the middle of the month.

Since June, I called, go official centre. They all said minor mistake, just forward to finance department, it will settle. I go official centre more than 5 times, called dozens of times! But till today, no action.

I want to know how should I proceed to complain to MCMC? What documents and proof needed? I am very furious now.

How relevant is Flash coding gonna be in future?

I'm starting to learn to code in Flex Builder 3 now (in school) and I'm just wondering how useful is this coding skill going to be in the future?

After all, we hear a lot about the death of Flash and Flash even recently decided to stop Flash development for mobile platforms. (Mobile platforms are going to be more important in the future, increasingly so.)

Maybe learning to code for HTML5 is more important? Maybe C/C++ is more important now and in the future?

Will Adobe AIR even take off on mobile platforms? There are serious concerns regarding performance issues and users generally prefer using native apps.

Much guidance and opinion is appreciated.

Common for E-350 to CANNOT play 1080p?

Hi, I'm using Dell Inspiron m102z, the E350 version.

I'm pretty sure that in reviews it's already stated clearly that E-350 can play 1080p videos without a problem at all.

But for my Inspiron m102z, playing 1080p video in Youtube is very choppy, CPU usage surge up to 100%. I don't think this is normal, should I contact Dell about this?

720p youtube videos can be played smoothly with around 60% CPU usage.

Hello sifus.

Any good wireless mouse to recommend to me? I'm a user for MX518 and I'm very happy with it, but now I need a wireless mouse for my laptop.

I need a mouse with at least 3 extra buttons that I can customize. I prefer mouse with ergonomic design like MX518 (not too small, rest nicely in my hand.)

I have a budget of around RM100, maybe will increase if the benefits is really good for the price paid.
Recommend me a media box + speakers.

Hi, I already have a Samsung Series 4 Plasma TV, found here: http://www.samsung.com/us/video/tvs/PN42C450B1DXZA-features

I'd like to get a media box and a set of speakers with it.

For media box, it would be a plus if I can play the movies from my computer's hard drive through LAN cables/wifi because my computer is just about 5 feet away from the TV. But sticking a USB stick in is OK for me too if that would give me a better speaker.

For speakers, it would be a definitely plus plus to get a 5.1 setup, but I doubt it can happen. So decent 2.1 speakers are ok with me. The most important is sound CLARITY. The BOOM BOOM is not so important.

I have a combined budget of RM700 only, hopefully it's enough to get something decent. Hopefully I don't need an AVR/amp because they cost a bomb.

Oh, and if possible please guide me on how to connect them together.

Thanks yeah!

Headache in choosing the right Audio equipment.

Hi, I'm planning to set up a Home Theater.

Now, before I start anything else, my budget is RM1000 for the Home Theater, including the source (ie: Media Box/HTPC), excluding the TV.

Ok, now...

I'm very interested in a 5.1 Speaker setup for my HT, but from what I found out, AV Receivers cost a bomb.
From what I understand, most Media Box like Western Digital and HDPro and Eaget does not support 5.1 speaker setup and therefore an AV Receiver is needed.

If I opt for a HTPC, will the cost be less, about the same, or more expensive?

If 5.1 speaker setup is out of the question for my budget, are there any 2.1 or any other setup that is highly recommended? (considering about rm350 is used for the Media Box, RM650 is left for the speakers.)

Note: I use my Home Theater primarily for movies and TV channels only. No web surfing, no gaming.

Computer fails to boot, problem with Slave Drive.

Hi, the motherboard I am using is a Biostar TA790GX 128M.

I don't know if it's the BIOS configuration or what, I can't really find an option for it. However, it seems that my Slave had drive is faulty that I can't boot to Windows even though my Primary hard drive has no problem whatsoever. I removed my slave drive and my computer is able to boot to Windows again. Is there any way where I can boot to Windows without the BIOS checking my Slave drive?

I still don't know what's wrong with my Slave drive. Hooking it up to my laptop via USB now to find what's wrong with it. All my data seems accessible and now I'm checking its health using HD Tune.

Please note that when I fail to boot to Windows, it's stuck in the POST screen for a few minutes then comes a few lines of text, basically indicating that it can detect both my Primary and Slave drive, but there is one line at the bottom saying Primary 3rd Drive S.M.A.R.T has failed or something.

Now I know that S.M.A.R.T is a self-monitoring thing in the hard drive, to see if it is damaged but the funny thing is if my Slave drive is really damaged, why I can still access all the data via USB?

[addedon]October 24, 2010, 8:20 pm[/addedon]Any help is hugely appreciate, thanks in advance.

Planning to get either of these cars, but I couldn't make up my mind.

Putting aside:
1. Resale value - Going to keep the car for long long time, like 15-20 years.
2. Speed - Not a speeder.

Which is better? Some important considerations:
1. Quality - How easily parts fail in the car?
2. Comfort - How nice is it to drive it?
3. Parts price - I heard Hyundai parts are about 10-15% more expensive. Is it alot? Will it get worse in the future?

I'm having a major security issue here.

I'm currently using HSBB's D-Link DIR615 wireless router.

How can I set up the settings where only computers connected through the modem's LAN port can configure and modify it's settings? (in 192.168.0.1)

Because currently even my laptop which is connected wirelessly can access the modem's configuration and do whatever it wants.

I've tried to disable Remote Management but it still wouldn't work.

Although my network is protected by WPA, it's still extremely unsafe to allow people to configure my modem wirelessly!

Hi,

The Trade Zone Helpdesk & Dispute Resolution Corner is there so that dispute can be settled easily, and also to warn other LYN members if a seller/buyer is dishonest.

But what happens when there is a dishonest job provider, properties agent or service provider in the Classifieds section?

Can't the person who feels victimized have the chance to settle things in an organised manner as well as warning other LYN members just like how it works in the Trade Zone Helpdesk & Dispute Resolution Corner?

So I suggest to have a Classifieds Helpdesk and Dispute Resolution Centre to settle disputes neatly between providers and receivers.

For those of you who want to monitor the currency market, you'll notice that the Stock tab only offers currency to USD. There's a trick around it.

1. First, go to http://finance.yahoo.com/currency-converter

2. Select the currencies you want to compare. For example, I take Canadian Dollars against Malaysian Ringgit.

3. Click '5 Days Trend'

4. Copy down the words after 'Compare:' (Example: CADMYR=X)

5. Go to your Stock tab and Add Stock.

6. Type out the words you have copied down. (Example: CADMYR=X) Must be EXACT.

7. Select the search results and voila! You can regularly monitor the currency!

Contact lenses vs Spectacles.

Asking all people who wore contact lenses for extended period of time!

I've heard many opinions about contact lenses, on the web, everybody seem to praise contact lenses a lot.

But in life, there are some who praise it but some dislike or try to avoid it as much as possible.

I think one of the most important question I want to ask is...

Does wearing contact lenses increase your power (Short sighted) more compared to spectacles? Normally I'd be staring at the monitor screen almost the whole time.
