Guys,

Do you keep personal belongings of deceased parents/relatives?

Like if parent have those old iphones or ipad, maybe not the latest model but they frequently use them and seems to be a part of how they are remembered. Maybe have some pictures and Whatsapp/messages throughout the years inside it.

Should it be kept or dispose / sold? Or keep it for memories sake?

I personally have an iphone x that my father held in his hands up to the last moment that he was fairly well. He had a fall from stairs and started the process of debilitating illness due to the trauma. It still had the cracks on the screen protector from it and all our messages with each other. The case had fallen apart but I managed to find a similar one. The screen, I just want to leave it like that as a reminder.

Hi guys, just need your opinion on this matter

So, lets say a guy (A) is a product of a broken family. Father (F) and mother (M) divorced since A is 6yo. Court agreed that F took care of A and not M.

So F took care of A as single parent from primary, secondary schools, university until graduated and have job. A lived with his F all this while, only occasionally sees his M. F passed away of old age and never remarried after raising A as single parent. Now, A is already married with own family and a professional career.

Mother meanwhile, remarried after the divorce and had a daughter (D) with another man. Mother is not working since she gave birth to D. Her new husband passed away due to disease when D is in her teens. Since then A gave money monthly that is comparable to the salary of D's late father to support M and D.

That being said, the relationship between A and M is not that good nor close since he was raised single handedly by F since little with no mother figure. M also never supported the marriage between A and his wife, and at one point even threatened both of them. Deep down, A never trusts his M and D and prefer to just stay away from them and just provide financial support.

Now D already completed her tertiary studies with PTPTN loan. M requests "more money" monthly from A since D needs to service her PTPTN loan and have not started working.

Is it fair for this burden to fall on A? Is it ok and reasonable for A to decline this request?

What do you guys think?

Transfer a large amount between own accounts

Hi, guys

Im asking on behalf of friend.

My friend's father wants to transfer a large amount (RM1 million) in 1 single transaction from his own Maybank Current Account to his own Tabung Haji account.

Source of money = property, inheritance, civil service award

Status of money = clean and source of funds is reproduceable

Income Tax Status = paid and in order, civil servant always deduct monthly

If he writes a Maybank cheque for that amount and deposits it at Tabung Haji counter, which authority will be alerted? LHDN? BNM? etc?

Hi, i am asking on behalf of a friend.

My friend's father has a large amount of money in his Maybank Current Account due to a combination of property sales, inheritance and civil service award. The money is around RM1 million and all can be accounted for if required. Being a civil servant, yes, his taxes are in order.

He wants to transfer this large amount of cash, within 1 transaction without using internet banking, from his Maybank Current Account to his Tabung Haji account. He does not consider any other investment options, only this one.

What is the best way to do this? Can he do it one-shot from a Maybank branch as Inter Bank Transfer over the counter? Or must he get a cheque at Maybank and then give it to the Tabung Haji counter? He does have a cheque book for his Maybank Current Account.

Shielding Inheritance From Non-Related Parties

Hi guys,

As a background, lets say there is a Muslim guy, lets call him, Mr A.

Mr A is a single child to a single father. No siblings. Mother divorced father more than 3 decades ago and she is out of the picture, she remarried and got kids etc. So the whole lifetime, Mr A is raised by the father.

Ok Mr A's father passed away. Leaving a large amount of inheritance, lets say within RM1-2 million cash only. No will.

Mr A is currently working in government, wife is working, 1 child on the way.

What is the best way to shield this large amount of inheritance from being interfered by other relatives, like cousins etc?

Trust fund? Wealth manager? Open account for child? Hibah? Or just plain and simple tell relatives "amount of money i received as inheritance and how I spend it is not a matter of concern for non-heirs"? Maybe use a lawyer as intermediary "I have been advised by my lawyer to keep the amount of inheritance and its use within knowledge of deserving heirs only"?

I was dreaming I was at some sort of exhibition hall. There was VIPs around. My role is unclear. Maybe some sort of officer or some other function.

Then there was Jibby. THAT Jibby. And Rosie. Yup.

Then (in the dreams ok), I wanted to kiss Jibby's hands. For some reason. I shit you not. I could not justify why, but that dream script is liddat one. Wanted to kiss like the cop meme. You know in dreams like you are an actor and you cant really decide why or what and just follow it, right?

So i put my hands on my chest, like a greeting. But Jibby saw me from the side and told Rosie : Oh, THIS guy. When he said THIS, the implication is I was one of those who frequently criticized him to the point he actually knows my name and can single me out.

Then Rosie asked Jibby, "you kenal dia?" And Jibby nodded silently, with hint of sinister. Then, both of them just ignored me and I felt like damn, he knows who I am? Habis lah. Kena kutip by his supporters. Or C4, who knows?

So thats that. Woke up and thought I was in trouble or something. For a while.

My Ponteng Puasa Confessions

I think my top ponteng puasa episodes are as follows:

Work night shift. Go to bazaar ramadhan at 5.00 pm. Then lock self in office to makan at 6.00 pm - (1+ hours before buka puasa anyway). Friends ask what I was doing in locked office before buka. TOld them I was sleeping because tired. They joked maybe I was ponteng puasa. I let off a laugh, a nervous+sarcastic one.

Buy nasi lemak in front of Chinese school during lunch time in Bentong Town. Add sambal sausage (student food). Best thing is the seller is Malay too but couldnt care less. Got some other Malay guys also queuing up but no shame because everyone knows what you are up to if you queue up at a nasi lemak stall during midday Ramadhan. The place was recommended by one guy. There is always that one guy in office who knows where to go full "plastic hitam". Always.

Buy Subway at a Giant restaurant (midday again, think it was 12.00 pm) then buy cendol from a mamak truck. Siap ask for "ikat tepi". Mamak as usual dont give a shit. Then drive to some secluded end road under some trees to feast. Feels good mang. Good times. If sick of Subway there is always Uncle Jack jiken at Giant.

On my way back home from KL to house in Subang. Passed by some bazaar near Ampang i think. Stopped to buy cold soybean milk and kuih then finish the whole thing in the car before arrive home. Evidence already disposed somewhere. Then during buka eat as usual with family.

Sahur at 4.30am with family. Then at 7.00am on my way out to work took gulps of cold water from fridge to "load up". Not even 1 hour in sudah ponteng like a mofo.

Never got caught by anyone or got in a van jenazah. Nowadays insaf dy, already have a family and the past is behind me. Full puasa except that one time I was actually sick on MC/meds etc for like 1 single day few years ago.

Lost 'Geran Kereta'

Hi guys, need some help here.

My elderly dad lost his fully paid car's pink, large-sized registration card.

I managed to renew his roadtax via MyEg.

I am aware that the large registration card is obsolete and replaced by something called a VOC and online records for current cars.

So my question is - should I just ignore the disappearance of the old registration card, or do I need to go to JPJ to get the VOC?

The car is not planned to be sold or transferred ownership, its in my name. The address on the geran is my old address, so it may need to be updated (so I may receive summons lol)

Maklumat daripada peserta yang hadir di majlis ini memberitahu bahawa program buka puasa beramai-ramai ini telah diadakan di pejabat Loyar Burok, Bangsar. Beliau yang juga alumni Sekolah Demokrasi tajaan Parti DAP, nyata teruja dengan kehadiran ramai pendukung gerakan LGBT tempatan. Beliau turut menyatakan rasa bangga dengan majlis Iftar Gay yang telah berjaya dijalankan.

Program memperlihatkan kehadiran ramai aktivis serta penyokong LGBT tempatan. Antara pendukung gerakan ini yang hadir untuk menyerikan majlis ini adalah mantan pengurus program Sisters in Islam, Suri Kempe, Dorian Wilde dan Nisha Ayub dari Justice For Sisters.
