Hi wanted to ask if there is any good tom yum fried rice in KL, one of the best and my fav back in the day was Aunty June in SS15 but they have closed a long time ago.

Recently been trying out different Thai restaurants and hawker stalls but cant seem to find the right hit.

Have tried the following :

A stall in New Soon Soon Lai hawker in Taman Shamelin - Above average for me so far and does the job (cheap and good)
Frame Thai Happy Garden - Average (dont think its tom yum fried rice as its another name on the menu)
Mr Thai KD - Average as well

Happy to hear any recommendations in Klang Valley. tks!

Weird Connection Problem

Context:
I have been occasionally getting random drops in my Unifi connection. It doesn't happen a lot but its hell of annoying when it does.

Usually its very obvious when I'm playing games. with no apparent warning, for a game like League of Legends it will just freeze the game maybe 3-5 secs or longer, then everything loads back and the game is normal.
- no/minimal fluctuations in the ping
- sometimes disconnected from the game and reconnected (immediately)

I use to play World of Warcraft as well, and in raids it would just lag out and i need to reconnected.

What I have also noticed is that usually when it happens, the actual connection doesn't disconnect at all(no change in IP or no indication that the modem was disconnected and had to reconnect), but there seems to be a drop in the network somehow.

Troubleshooting steps:
In the past - I have gone from wifi ---> lan cable (still using this now) (changed lan cable twice - Cat 5 to Cat 6 )
then i assumed it was a computer issue--- (I have since upgraded to a totally whole new pc)
then router ---> changed that too
even the Unifi modem has been upgraded over the years

Hardware:
TM Modem - DIR 842 C2
TM Router - AN5506-04-BG
3rd Party Router - Asus RT-N14UHP

Question:
Is there a program where i can use to monitor the connection on either my computer side OR the router Or modem side.

I have therefore come to the conclusion this is a external line issue but as it doesn't happen often, its hard for me to show it or explain it to the TM technicians when they do come to check. And its hell of annoying.

this isn't my forte but probably a line issue from the port to my modem? If this is really the issue, can i request TM to change or replace it? or reinstall it?

Appreciate any help guys!

Advice on Rig Build

Dear Sifu's, I have compiled a potential new rig built and would love some thoughts regarding it:

CPU
R5 3600 Should i wait/choose a Zen 3 option instead? RM859
GPU
Asus TUF Gaming 3080 10GB For 1440p dual monitor setup, will 3070 be able to deliver? RM3360
RAM
Corsair Vengeance LPX CMK 3600Hz (8gbx2) For my use would 3200hz be sufficient? RM369
Motherboard
MSI B550M Pro VDH Wifi For future proofing the build, shoud i consider an X570 and maybe offset with a 3070?? RM659
Storage
ADATA XPG SX8200 Pro 1TB RM649
Storage 2
Western Digital Blue 3TB Optional as this is meant more to consolidate the many HDD's I have had over the years. Rm399
PSU
Corsair RM750 Gold would a 650W be sufficient for this build RM539
Case
Fractal Design Meshify C TG Black / White Casing isnt that much of a deal just not RGB focused, so budget will be around RM300 - 400 RM400

Total RM7,203

Budget No fixed budget(ie can be flexible up to 8k if it justifies but prefer to keep it below RM7.5k)

Some disclaimers:
-Mainly used as home entertainment, using daily for watching HD movies, youtube, games.
-For gaming mostly games like LoL/Dota/CSGO etc but occasionally would like to play A list games (eg. Cyberpunk 2077, GTA's, Sim City, Civilisation).
-Build intended to upgrade to 1440p. Planning to get a LG27GL850 OR ASUS TUF VG27AQ & Looking for a dual monitor setup, 2nd monitor can be bought over time.
-Last comp survived for 10 years (end 2010) which shows that I may not need the firepower at all. (Its one of those good to have when I need kinda things) Just want the ability if I ever need at least for the coming 3-5 years.
-Timeline preferably before Mid November.
- Any advice on waiting for Radeon's launch OR 3070 Launch OR Zen 3 would be appreciated too.

I know there is alot of "what if's" and hope to hear some feedback on this.

Otherwise thank you for reading and have a good day !

Advice on a mid range laptop

Hi All, am looking to buy a laptop pretty soon and after much research the list that I am comparing seems to be getting longer and longer. I am hoping to keep my laptop budget at not more than RM5k however I'm willing to go to RM5500 if the upgrades justifies this.

*Before I get shot down please note this is my first laptop purchase and my usage is more for work however occasionally I would like to be able to play some games as well.*

My initial shortlist was the following however I have since noticed some differences from laptops offered in Malaysia as compared to reviews online:

1. Dell G7 (No 1060 option)
2. Lenovo Legion Y350 (Most reviews I have seen online are for the i5-8300H version but Malaysia's version is the i7-8750H)
3. Considerations: MSI GL63, GP63

I have since started to compile the prices as of today in the table below:

Based on the above I have some questions to ask as this is getting confusing for me:
1. I understand that 1060 is easily about 20% better than a 1050Ti. Even with this point if I were to buy a 1050Ti laptop, reasonably speaking how long would be the lifespan for the GPU in terms of future proof games.
2.Most laptops in my list have monitors around 60Hz with the exception of the ASUS TUF FX504G-MEN039T, as a normal user will this impact me in an obvious way?
3. I am still deciding how much of an issue will weight be as such this is the reason why I have included the Lenovo as it fits daily use in case I need to meet clients (This is a secondary priority).
4. I have read that HP Omen 15 seems to be a good choice as well in this price range however I cant seem to find any details of 2018 Omen 15 online yet. Just wanted to confirm that HP hasnt launch it yet???? because there is a spec online here http://h20386.www2.hp.com/MalaysiaStore/Me...PA&opt=&sel=NTB
5. Any comments on Helios 300?
6. I understand that there is an IT fair end of August, is it worth the wait for any discounts on these 2018 models because some of the online rebates from Dell and Lenovo seem ok?
7. Any comments on any of the models or brands above would be great.

As a summary from all my reading in the forums:
*MSI, Acer, ASUS seems to have heat issues
*Dell G7 seems to have a shuttering issue

Please let me know if I missed anything and thanks for any help I can get!!!
