<WTA> Change router or add wireless extender?

I am using L7-N-R2000 router that provided by TM. The router is placed a room at downstairs and the wireless signal is weak at upstairs (even is connected the internet speed is slow). I play online game so i need consistent speed line. There are only 2 or 5 user using this line. My question is:

1) Should i change a new router or add a wireless extender?

2) If change router, any recommendation?

Thx in advance...
