US President Donald Trump’s administration has given the final green light to developer Solar Partners XI plans to build a massive 690MW PV array on public lands in Nevada able to supply electricity for all 260,000 residences in Greater Las Vegas.

When fully operational by 1 December 2023, the $1bn Gemini project will be the country’s largest utility-scale solar array, with the capability to store at least 380MW using long-duration lithium-ion batteries.

State regulators earlier approved a 25-year power purchase agreement between the Gemini project consortium – made up of international developer Quinbrook Infrastructure Partners and California-based Arevia Power – and NV Energy, part of Warren Buffett’s Berkshire Hathaway conglomerate and the largest electric utility in Nevada.

NV Energy will pay an average $38.44/MWh for electricity from Gemini, which will be built on 28 sq km (7,000 acres) of federal land in the desert about 53km (33 miles) northeast of Las Vegas. During construction the project could employ up to 900 workers, while supporting another 1,100 local jobs and injecting over $710m into the area economy.

“Our economic resurgence will rely on getting America back to work, and this project delivers on that objective,” said Interior Secretary David Bernhardt, who added he was glad the US Department of the Interior was able finalise approval given its energy supply and job creation impacts. Gemini will provide $3m annually to the US Treasury through land lease payments.

The green light for Gemini highlights the mixed messaging on renewables from Trump since he took office in January 2017. The US President rejecting mainstream climate science by favouring fossil fuels over cleaner alternatives, and repeatedly slamming onshore wind turbines as harmful to human health and ugly, while calling solar power “very, very expensive” for the country even though it is cheaper than coal.

Yet, Gemini is now the third large PV facility on federal lands approved during his tenure after the 500MW Palen in California and 80MW Sweetwater in Wyoming. The proposed 450MW Quartzite project in California is also in advanced stages of permitting.

Hello boys, I'm planning to get a new laptop to replace my 5 year old XPS 15, but need rekomendation lah.
Currently, my main constraints are listed below:
1. Only gonna use for mostly movies,music. Games are only dota 2 and CS:GO, no graphic heavy ones.
2. Will prefer it to be seamless and no bottlenecks, SSD preferred, minimum 128GB.
3. Plan to use the laptop for simulations, I plan to install ANSYS Fluent and CREO(Engineering design softwares).
4. Speakers and audio quality not important, I use earphones all the time.
5. Screen minimum 14", only FHD needed.

Hi there,I wanted to buy a pair of rigid dragon 511 levis' jeans,but I found out that its raw-denim,which means it fades quickly because they never pre-wash it or something?
I was wondering where can I get blackish-indigo type jeans like the rigid dragon 511 and it is not raw-denim and fades much much less.

Guys,wanna ask whether end of this year got rave or not?
Last year we had onerepublic in sunway lagoon on october 31st
and a month after that we had We love asia 2.0 with avicii,martin garrix and bassjackers on november 31st.
This year like no news or no events update on any upcoming raves or bands?
even sarawak got one small rave but KL don't have.

Hello guys,I currently own the Dell L502x XPS 15,currently I'm suffering from sudden freezes when I game. But not so often as before.
Due to the fact that I had to downclock my GPU voltage to a stable level,which thankfully stopped the freezes for a while(few months ago). But,now they start occuring.
Apparently,this is a sad problem with my Dell L502x model,it has happened to a lot of people who own this model,sadly me as well.
Just wondering,could it be that alot of dust has clogged it up or thermal paste dried up?
Because well,I can't open it up and clean it,cause one of the screws to open up the laptop, has lost the "flower".
So, I was wondering if you guys know any good laptop cleaner experts and quote roughly how much or what do you guys think I should do,to fix this problem.
Cause my only hypothesis is that,thermal paste is dried up,or something clogged in there.

Hey there,recently got back my pc from repair shop,they say the mobo is faulty,so thinking of upgrading my proc and mobo only,and keep the PC alive.
I was thinking of i5 processor, with a mobo,but dunno what mobo only.
Budget is <RM850-900.
Or,if you guys think the budget is too limiting or what,I guess I have to opt for a i3 or lower spec instead.
