Khabar angin yang mengatakan PKR memecat Timbalan Presidennya Azmin Ali adalah palsu, maklum Pengarah Komunikasi parti Shamsul Iskandar Mohd Akin.

Beliau memberitahu Malaysiakini ketika dihubungi pagi tadi bagi menafikan desas-desus yang beredar di media sosial, berkata tidak ada pun perbincangan sedemikian dalam PKR.

"Malah tiada mesyuarat diadakan malam tadi (sebagaimana didakwa).

"Khabar angin tetaplah khabar angin," katanya melalui pesanan Whatsapp.

Khabar angin itu mendakwa Azmin dipecat daripada PKR telah tersebar serta tular di media sosial malam tadi, termasuklah melalui Facebook dan Twitter.

Tidak dapat dipastikan dari mana khabar angin itu muncul kerana kebanyakan hantaran di media sosial seringkali menyebarkan dakwaan tanpa sumber berwibawa atau kenyataan pemimpin parti.

Bagaimanapun, dipercayai ramai netizen yang berkongsi khabar angin itu mudah percaya mengenai persaingan dalaman yang bukan lagi rahsia umum, antara Menteri Hal Ehwal Ekonomi yang digelar 'geng kartel' dan Naib Presiden PKR yang dilantik Rafizi Ramli, yang dikenali sebagai pendukung tegar Presiden PKR Anwar Ibrahim.
Azmin turut didakwa lebih cenderung menyebelahi Pengerusi PH dan Bersatu, Dr Mahathir Mohamad yang juga perdana menteri.

Namun demikian, walaupun terdapat dakwaan sebegini, hubungan Anwar dan Azmin yang ditunjukkan kekal akrab. Terbaru Timbalan Perdana Menteri Dr Wan Azizah Ismail dan suaminya Anwar menziarahi Azmin yang baru selesai pembedahan hempedu di rumahnya.
