HELP! AE lock and FEL lock confusion

im using canon 1000d, recently jus get a 430ex2 speedlight
im intend to do some fill flash portrait during day light. im intend to ae lock the sky exposure and recompose at the model face, but found that the ae button became FEL(flash exposure lock).....how come like this?? when using flash i cant use AE lock?? this result turned out my model overexposed after i meter the sky using FEL....how??

front focusing problem

can anybody tell me is that my lens has front focus problem, because when using the test chart given by shashinki, i found that the shashinki line was not at perfect sharpness when taken with my 50mm 1.8 lens.....photo taken at f/1.8

cpl or lens problem?

cpl or 55-250mm lens problem
hi can anyone help me out here... i jus bought a canon 55-250mm IS...when i use it today with cpl filter, the image came out blur...it happens in every image i took when i attach the cpl on the lens.. when i remove, the image was clear... the setting was the same, in 1/100.....but when i try my cpl with my kit lens 18-55mm.... the image is ok... no blur detected...whats the problem??
