Vista and laptop screen

I don't know how many also have this problem, but I'm running Vista Ultimate on my laptop. All the drivers I've finally to get working, now even though when Do Nothing when screen lid is closed is set in power options, when I close the lid, and open it up again, the screen stays black and doesn't power up, although the computer functions normally, with MSN, etc. It takes a reboot to get the screen back up.

Has anyone encountered this problem or have a solution?

I am using the O2 XDA IIi on WM2003SE. The ringtone is very low, even though I can feel the vibration when it rings, I'd like to be able to increase the volume of the ringtone so I can be sure to hear it. Does anyone know how I can do it?

I just bought this PDA-phone, and I've been using it for a few days already. All I gotta say is...WOW! Powered by Windows Mobile 2003 Second Edition, and packing a 520Mhz processor with 128MB of RAM and ROM, this is one powerful device.

A few days of fiddling with it, and now I can play any Gameboy Advance game I want, fullscreen with full emulation and no slowdown. I can spy on wireless packets, and I have a set of powerful wireless diagnostic tools installed.

Throughout all my fiddling, I never had to soft reset the phone, except at the beginning to put in my SIM Card. My only gripe with the device is the volume trigger on the side, it's a bit too tight, making it difficult to sense whether you have actually adjusted the volume or not.

Other then that, the beautiful screen, and the fact that it can handle anything I throw at it makes this, in my opinion a perfect PDA.

If any of you have had any experience with it, I'd love to hear from you guys.

Friendster Problems

I'm not sure if it's just me, but I have been having serious problems with Friendster not saving my changes to my profile. I would upload a few pictures, change my profile, and the next time I checked, it would be back to the same before I updated it. Some things stay the same like the About Me part though. This is driving me mad, I have re-uploaded the same 2 photos about a dozen times now, as well as editing my profile again. I did all this around 9pm, maybe Friendster is having server maintenance or something?

Anyone having the same problems, or know of a solution? This is driving me seriously mad.

I am sick and tired of the 2142 online situation. The game is fine, but I have resorted to playing only single-player due to the server availability and crappy netcode that bumps me all over the place like a cripple have a seizure when I play.

How do you guys find decent servers to play on? Are there a list of server IP's you guys use? The built in server search doesn't really help, I still get about 150ms+ which is still unplayable.

Any advice would be great.

Poslaju Problems

I bought a graphics card from a member in lowyat, good service, he shipped it quite promptly on saturday, so it should arrive on monday. It is now 2pm on monday and I have not seen hair or hide of the parcel. It was sent via poslaju, and according to the tracking number, it was shipped on saturday, and is now in KK, but nobody here has any record of it. I've called the shipping center, they can't find it.

Now whenever I call the two numbers for the kota kinabalu branch, I either get a busy dialtone or it keeps ringing, I'm starting to think that they have caller ID. I've never had a problem with poslaju before, but this is really making me reconsider.

Any advice would be great, I am pretty ticked off already.

Hi, I am in the market looking for a good pda-phone powered by Microsoft Mobile, which is important since I plan to use skype. I'm looking for wi-fi connectivity which is the most important. It should also play mp3's and be used as a media device. The battery life should be decent or better.

I am primarily looking at the HP RW6828, but the reviews leave me a bit undecided especially to its battery life and camera quality.

Any suggestions would be great!

Slow Lan Transfer Speed

Suddenly when I want to transver a 349mb avi file across my lan to my laptop it seems to be taking extra slow, 94 minutes instead of the usual 2 or 3 minutes. It runs through a router, and both computers have no problem accessing the net, the only problem is the slow local lan transfer speed. Any suggestions? Both network cards have been tried being locked to 100/full duplex speed already.

Just Cause

Just Cause is a game similiar to GTA, except it's based on a huuge area consisting of islands. You can fly copters, boats, motocycles and planes. The graphics are also amazing, the best beach/ocean graphics I have ever seen in a game. There is still slight problem with a memory leak, but with a bit of tweaking it runs smoothly and is a lot of fun.

More info: http://www.justcausegame.com/

I had my relatives buy it in KL on PCDVD because its a 6gb file and I'm happy I did, I read that the *ahem* version had a lot of problems. Can't go wrong with original eh

Have any of you played this game, what're your comments?

I logged on this morning in office and loaded my sites as usual, canadian international sites. They seem to load much faster, and without much delay. As it is almost the 19th, could the maintenance be over? Is anyone else experiencing the same thing? I'm pretty sure its not my cache, as I tried it on another computer and streamyx connection in the office.

Problem with Local Area Connection

I have an MSI M-1022 laptop. When I plug in the LAN cable to any router, it will stall on Acquiring Network Address, and won't go beyond that no matter what I try. When I set to manual IP it works sometimes, but the Local Area Connection properties screen will freeze and crash when I click OK.

I found that this problem still persists AFTER I reinstalled XP Pro on the laptop with new drivers for everything. It's not the router's problem as I tested with several routers.

Any ideas or solutions? I can't seem to find anything on google.

Would the fact that my streamyx line (dedicated to streamyx, no other phones on it), has no dial tone affect my streamyx in any way, like the speed? If so, I won't bother with trying to get TM to fix my phone's dial tone since my net is working OK, but if its affecting the speed of my internet, I want to get this fixed asap.
