[WTA] mortgage loan insurance

I've found some threads on the topic, and I've seen the options (i.e. MRTA, MLTA, ILP, etc.) and I'm just wondering, for own stay, what do you think is the recommended kind of insurance to take for the loan?
I've got my own life insurance, and I preferably don't want to mix the two.

Regarding MLTA, if I take it with the bank, how does this differ from the ones you buy from the insurance companies?
And how do some banks offer it as one lump-sum that can be financed into the loan, I was under the impression that it was to be paid as a monthly / quarterly / yearly amount.

diet diary smartphone app

I'm normally a lurker around this part of the forum, and I thought I'd just share this Android app I feel really helped me out on keeping a diet diary. Sorry guys, I don't think there's an iPhone version of this app, but if there is something equivalent/similar, feel free to leave a comment. =D

Earlier this month I guess I was looking at myself, and I thought "zomg I need to do something about this. stat." And I thought, keeping a diet diary might really help things along. And being the smartphone junkie that I am, I hunted around for an app, and I found Noom. It's actually something like a diet diary + exercise logger + weight loss journal in one nicely packaged app, so I decided to try it out. Best part (I am being cheapo, but hey) - it's a free app, and for me, a GREAT app! So here's me sharing my personal experience with it so far. Note that I do not work for this company, nor was I paid in any way. Just a disclaimer =P

Info about the app over here: http://www.worksmartlabs.com/noom/

Part #1: The diet diary (Calorific)
It's really different compared to the other calorie-counting apps/sites that I've seen, because.. while it works for people who live in western countries, or eat mainly foods easily available in US/UK, it's not really friendly for the Asian/Malaysian diet. I haven't found a complete calorie database for Msian foods apart from cekodok.com and so, the concept of logging calorie intake using this is pretty easy for me - even if it's an estimation. This, I like. It's up to you how honest you are in logging your foods into this. And so far, I cheat here and there but I generally try to be as accurate as possible. There's also a pie chart that shows you roughly the ratio of the kinds of food that you're eating (whether it's great like fruits, ok like rice-like dishes, and no-nos like Maccas fries)

Part #2: The exercise logger (CardioTrainer)
I'm not sure how accurate the pedometer is on this, cause I guess when they built this part of the app they had runners/walkers in mind. Because I mainly dance, so I manually log that in and use the estimation the app gives as a guide as to how much calories I'm burning. Pretty nifty that there is a pretty wide range of activities I can choose from to log, and it integrates with the stock Android music player to shuffle songs as I am spinning on the bike, for instance - then it doesn't make things so boring.

Part #3: Weight loss journal
You enter some deets about yourself (height, weight), your goal (desired weight), and your exercise schedule (maybe 3x a week for starters?) and it will tie in parts #1 and #2 above to calculate how much recommended calories you should consume a day, as well as remind you to exercise, and tell you how much calories you should burn per week)! Also has a weight graph so weigh yourself, and watch the graph trend downwards XD At first I felt the estimation of the recommended daily calorie intake was a little low, but I think it's abit dependent on the exercise schedule you set as well as the weight loss goal.. And even *then*, I do eat more than the recommended limit sometimes =P

Summary (i.e. the tl;dr part)
This app was meant to be a rough estimation of a diet diary + exercise logger + weight loss journal. Great concept of logging calories (mealtimes) that can be adapted to any kind of food, just as long as you're honest about it. Exercise logger, gives a rough guide as to how much calories you're burning, and the weight loss diary helps me focus on the end goal - to be fit, and hopefully this will turn out into a longtime habit that I can sustain. I really really like it, and I've been using it for almost 3 weeks. Lost about 2 kilos so far, and I would really tout this app to Android users who may or may not be fitness junkies to at least try this out =)

If anyone's been using this app, do shoutout here =D and if anyone has recommendations for other apps of similar nature, do comment! Would love to explore other apps that do something similar XD

using a set of java classes in multiple projects

Warning: This post gets pretty long cause I'm trying to be as detailed as possible.

Before creating this post, I have been Googling for similar situations and possible solutions, and most of them lead to 2 solutions which I've described below (well at least that was how I understood it)..

And open the spoiler to see the rest of the post.. I also paiseh type until so long =P

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

The stuff I'm using
IDE:Eclipse
Web server:Tomcat
Language:JAVA. It's a web application mainly using JSP.

The problem:
I'm trying to make it so that this particular set of classes (in selected .java files) can be used in multiple projects.. As far as possible I don't want each project to have a copy of the same file. For now, I'm just testing it with one project (project P), and here's what I've tried to do so far:

My attempts to solve the problem:

QUOTE

Method 1:
I select the package files I want to export and export it as a jar file, exporting source codes and class files.

Remove the source codes from project P (I want it to refer to the jar, I'm afraid there might be conflicts if I have the source codes in the project folder as well as the jar)

Then I right-click the project I want to import the jar file to, and try to add it in the project's build path. (right-click Build Path -> Add External Archives)

So far so good, I can see the jar file in my build path and when I look at the JSPs and fellow java files that refer to it, it can find the source code that I just imported from the JAR.

QUOTE

Method 2:

I create a new Java project in Eclipse (say project B) and set the Project Layout to "Use project folder as root for sources and class files"

Then I add the class files into the project: right-click the newly created project->Import->File System (I import the java source code files)

So now that the class files are in the project, I create a dependency for project P in the build path: right-click project -> Configure Build Path->Projects and I add project B into the list.

Remove the source codes from project P (I want it to use the codes in project B , I'm afraid there might be conflicts if I have the source codes in the project folder as well as the dependency)

The output of my efforts:
When I try to run the application (using either method), it always returns a java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError error saying that it cannot find the class that I've imported (either in the jar file or the project)... and I have no idea why. I've re-imported the project to get a fresh working copy (before making changes) and restarted the server in between each method. Also, when I ctrl+click the code that leads to the required classes in the imported jar/dependent project, it is able to make a reference and leads me to the corresponding method. Here's the error stack trace:

CODE

root cause

java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: bgoc/auth/ASQL
org.apache.jsp.authorization.materialRequest.newreq_005flist_jsp._jspService(newreq_005flist_jsp.java:134)
org.apache.jasper.runtime.HttpJspBase.service(HttpJspBase.java:97)
javax.servlet.http.HttpServlet.service(HttpServlet.java:802)
org.apache.jasper.servlet.JspServletWrapper.service(JspServletWrapper.java:332)
org.apache.jasper.servlet.JspServlet.serviceJspFile(JspServlet.java:314)
org.apache.jasper.servlet.JspServlet.service(JspServlet.java:264)
javax.servlet.http.HttpServlet.service(HttpServlet.java:802)

I'm really out of ideas on where I've screwed up.. Ideas anyone?
