this bellow is what i put together for those who need help in setting up their ps3 to play online with wireless BB network. i'm sorry i dont provide xbox setup cos i dont hv one to test it out hehe, maybe someone out there can contribute on the xbox set up? anyway here goes

method to do an internet connection sharing (ICS) on PlayStation3 for XP computers

First off u will need a cross cable for the connection

1. Connect the cross cable from ur pc to your ps3
2. Go to control panel > network connection > right click property on ur modem (this could be ur phone modem or USB modem)
3. Advance > click ICS option then click “allow other users to connect throught this computer”

now for the ps3 part

1. Go to network setting
2. Then select internet connection setting
3. They will ask u to select a setting method, select custom
4. Next they will ask u to connect wired or wireless connection, select wired
5 from here, select these bellow:

Operation Mode: auto-detect
IP Adress: automatic
DHCP Host Name: Do not use
DNS: Automatic
MTU: Automatic
Proxy Server: Do not use
UPNP: enable

Once all this is done, there is nothing to do but to Sign IN and play online! hope it helps guys!

What are the difference between this two cables?

cos i was thinking of doing a fast temporary extension of my rear speakers to the amp,
so what i was planning to do was i got RCA connector (pic below)

and then connect my rear speakers cable wit a coaxial cable and to the amp,
is it suitable? will it damage my amp or speakers? cos at the moment i only have this 1.5m long coaxial cable lying around and i only have time to go to the shop and get a proper RCA cable 2morrow.

cos i saw this 5.1 home theater set that has optical input which is around my budget but it only has Dolby Digital. the reason i want to buy this home theater set is to have true surround sound for my ps3. could this home theater make true surround sound wit just the Dolby Digital feature in it, or does it need DTS, THX, Dolby digital pro-logic etc etc (all this terms) just to get a true surround sound?

hi all

any ideas to get cheap surround sound on 5.1 pc speakers that has no optical input?

i saw this DDTS-100 decoder and is the only way to get true surround sound BUT it cost a bomb! rm700+ (might as well drag the budget a bit and get a home theater)

i saw this DTS 610 decoder too, cost around rm300+ which the price is not too bad, BUT its unable to make true surround sound, according to the gamespot forum.

A man came into a high class bar on the 77th floor of a building; the bar was empty only the barkeeper and a strange looking man sitting at the corner. So the man ordered a drink, sitting there didn’t had anyone to talk to, he ask the barkeeper, “whose that man sitting at the corner?” “oh that’s just our regular customer, he always sits there ever night” said the barkeeper.

The man was curious, so he came over and decides to talk to the strange man…they talk like normal and they had a bit too many beers, they were like old buddies talking to each other. Then suddenly the strange man said.

Telephone pole

ok, the other day TMnet contractor call me up and said he was ready to install the phone line at my house (that was 3 days after i paid everything and get the phone from TM, which to my surprise, very fast) but he had to broke the bad news to me.."oh no, we need to install the telephone pole"...

haiz he told me that he will inform TM about this, its about a week and still no news! usually how long does this process take till the pole is standing up high? or maybe just a simple phone call from TM telling me they have knowledge about the problem. i'm worried the cable guy didnt even bother telling TM about this.

rental modem

i just recently registered a phone line and streamyx, combo package. and its still in the process of waiting for them to install the phone line to my house. i told the women from TMnet that i would like to rent the modem instead of buying one, cos i'm to lazy to hassle around buying modem and installing it myself, and so she told me a contractor will deal it for me...

now the thing is, lots of my friend who used to rent the modem hv tons of problem, modem heating up, unable to connect etc etc. so they advice me to buy a modem instead. is it possible for me to use the rental modem for maybe lets say about a month and see how it goes, and when i got sick of it, can i just cancel it and tell TMnet that i dont want to use the modem? or is it a one year contract that i am force to use their modem?

or maybe my other option is just hassle, buy my self a modem, go to tmnet and cancel the rental package before they install the modem themself for me? what are the process do i hv to go through if i want to cancel the rental package even before my phone line is fixed, is their going to be any complication to my application for the phone line later on?

can anyone help me wit this? or maybe hopefully there is a TMnet official that can help me on this, that would be superb!

just wanna know how many of ps3 owners out there setting up theirs

any difference in any sorts of way playing it vertical/horizontal way

any pro/con playing it in the vertical/horizontal way

i'm playing mine vertical, some ppl say that it wont get hot that fast, cos the hot air rises to the top of the ps which has holes on it. but i not sure bout the reading of the blu-ray disc, might it cause problems lens?, stressing the hard disc reading?

but then some ppl say that ps3 is design to play vertical and horizontal both!... I are confuse

does anyone here knows what is the minimum speed to play ps3 online? or maybe can list out their speed connection upload/download speed? which is more important the upload speed or the download speed

i'm using celcom 3g. as a means to connect to the net, n i wondering if the speed is enough to play online?
