quad core android devices?

QUOTE

Things get even more exciting with the Tegra 3 details. It will feature quad 1.5 GHz cores, 3x faster graphics, ultra low power CPU mode, support for Blu-ray video, and display resolutions up to 1920×1200. The leaked slide says Tegra 3 can process about 13800 MIPS, which is 3x more than Tegra 2

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

QUOTE

Although the Tegra 2 chip with integrated dual-core processor has recently been released, NVIDIA is already poised to announce its successor at the Mobile World Congress next month. According to Mike Rayfield of NVIDIA, Tegra 3 may incorporate a quad-core processor with main focus of supporting Android smartphones and tablet PCs.

Described as computer on a chip, Tegra is packed with a built-in ARM architecture CPU, GPU, northbridge, southbridge, and memory controller. Since it is designed for mobile devices such as smartphones and tablets, the chip is energy efficient but powerful enough to handle demanding tasks and applications.

A good number of tablet computers and smartphones from top hardware manufacturers are already powered by Tegra 2, and most of which are scheduled for release this Q1. NVIDIA Tegra 2 is equipped with a Dual-core ARM Cortex-A9 CPU (1 GHz, 1MB L2 Cache), Ultra-low power (ULP) GeForce GPU, and 1080p video playback processor.

The next generation iPad and iPhone is said to feature a powerful dual-core processor. For Android to beat these two immensely popular handhelds, it must run on a more powerful hardware. Utilizing NVIDIA Tegra 3 with quad-core processor could easily give Android devices the edge over those made by Apple.

QUOTE

We’re still waiting for the first Tegra 2 dual-core smartphone to become available, but that hasn’t stopped NVIDIA from preparing their next generation of chips. If this leaked roadmap is correct, we should start preparing for a new Tegra 2 every couple of months with the first being one that will support 3D displays and can be clocked at 1.2GHz. With all of the talk about LG and the possibility of them launching the first 3D phone at MWC, we could be seeing these much sooner than any anticipated. And let’s not forget that NVIDIA announced LG’s Optimus 2X as the “world’s first” Tegra 2 phone, so we won’t be surprised at all if they get the first 3D one.
The roadmap doesn’t stop there though. How does a quad-core Tegra 3 clocked at 1.5GHz sound? Remarkable right? Well what if we told you that devices could start seeing these processors in the Fall of this year? Your mind is probably blown now, so we’ll give you a minute to let that settle.
The smartphone world is evolving more quickly than I think any of us had ever imagined. We just spent a week at CES watching companies rave about their new Tegra 2 devices, but we had no idea that we’d all be moving past it in such a hurry.

mean while..

ARM unveils 2.5GHz Cortex-A15 MPCore processor

QUOTE

According to the official specs on ARM’s site, the ARM Cortex-A15 MPCore can be clocked at up to a whooping 2.5GHz. Such a quantum leap beats today’s smartphone CPUs by a factor of five while claiming comparable power consumption.

http://www.geek.com/articles/mobile/arm-un...mpcore-2010099/

things just move too fast these days

The Godfather II (PS3)

QUOTE

Inspired by the film and Mario Puzo's Corleone family drama, The Godfather II game goes beyond the film's story by setting players in the world of organized crime in 1960's Florida, Cuba and New York.

After being promoted by Michael Corleone to Don of New York, players expand to new cities, as they build up their families through extorting businesses, monopolizing illegal crime rings and defeating new families in an effort to become the most powerful mob family in America. To help players manage their empire, The Godfather II introduces "The Don's View" - an innovative strategy meta-game that allows players to oversee the entire world as they grow the family business. Using the Don's View, players will be able to build, defend and expand their crime rings, while keeping an eye on the movements and plans of the rival families. Players will also learn to master the business of organized crime by building a family of Made Men, hiring crew, handing out orders, and promoting their best men up the ranks.

General Features

* Set in a stunning open-world environment, The Godfather II expands on the popular gameplay mechanics of the first game and doubles down on the series’ signature BlackHand control scheme, which now features even more visceral hand-to-hand brutality at your fingertips, introducing a new combo system, pressure tactics and executions.

* In The Godfather II, players will fight alongside their hand-picked crew, who have their own skills and expertise. Each family member specializes in a specific field such as demolitions, arson, engineering, first-aid and more.

* "The Don's View" allows players to oversee the entire world as they grow the family business.

http://ps3.ign.com/objects/953/953333.html

Strange man at the bar

A man came into a high class bar on the 77th floor of a building; the bar was empty only the barkeeper and a strange looking man sitting at the corner. So the man ordered a drink, sitting there didn’t had anyone to talk to, he ask the barkeeper, “whose that man sitting at the corner?” “oh that’s just our regular customer, he always sits there ever night” said the barkeeper.

The man was curious, so he came over and decides to talk to the strange man…they talk like normal and they had a bit too many beers, they were like old buddies talking to each other. Then suddenly the strange man said.

Strange man: you want to know a secret about this floor? It has magical powers
Man: what magical powers?
Strange man: only at this floor of the entire building, that if u jump out of the window u will magically float back up, you will never hit the ground
Man: NO WAY! That rubbish, your drunk, why don’t u prove it.

So that strange man open the window, and jump out without haste, drop all the way, then suddenly float back up into the window

Man : WOooH! That’s crazy! Let me try!

The man did the same thing but end up dead on ground zero

Strange man pick up his stuff and walk out the bar, as he was walking out the bar the barkeeper said “Superman…your crazy when your drunk”

rental modem

i just recently registered a phone line and streamyx, combo package. and its still in the process of waiting for them to install the phone line to my house. i told the women from TMnet that i would like to rent the modem instead of buying one, cos i'm to lazy to hassle around buying modem and installing it myself, and so she told me a contractor will deal it for me...

now the thing is, lots of my friend who used to rent the modem hv tons of problem, modem heating up, unable to connect etc etc. so they advice me to buy a modem instead. is it possible for me to use the rental modem for maybe lets say about a month and see how it goes, and when i got sick of it, can i just cancel it and tell TMnet that i dont want to use the modem? or is it a one year contract that i am force to use their modem?

or maybe my other option is just hassle, buy my self a modem, go to tmnet and cancel the rental package before they install the modem themself for me? what are the process do i hv to go through if i want to cancel the rental package even before my phone line is fixed, is their going to be any complication to my application for the phone line later on?

can anyone help me wit this? or maybe hopefully there is a TMnet official that can help me on this, that would be superb!

thank guys!
