Switch melted

I've been using a toggle switch that is rated 240v 15amp to turn on/off my HID lights, but recently the switch jammed and when i took it out, i saw that the rear plastic melted.

Is there any reason why my wiring is producing so much heat that even a 240v switch can't handle?

Are there switches that can handle high heat? and where to buy them from, preferably in PJ area.

What will happen if I received funds that aren't suppose to be mine? For example, someone transfered the funds into my account by accident.

Will the bank take any action against me? It's not actually my fault for not reporting it, who doesn't want free money right?
