Let's say i only have 20gb of hdd for the OS, will it be sufficient to install vista 64 ulti on that drive? microsoft site stated minimum is 15gb but some guys in other forum said might even need 40gb?

btw, my games will be on the other drive, not the 20gb

No sound after idling for too long

On XP sp3, latest realtek driver..

No sound playback as in the error you get when you have no sound driver installed and you try to play a mp3 file..

A restart solves the problem though but i wanna get rid of teh problem for good..

Modem blinking

so i registered the streamyx yesterday, account & email activated but the modem is still blinking. I guess that the port is not activated
How long must i wait?

Yo so i got a problem, sometimes my computer Cpufan will drop to 0rpm and never got up - the fan still spins though and the temperature remains the same and normal.

When it dropped to 0rpm, it will emit a very annoying continuous sound. Hence, i turned off the 'failed cpu fan alarm' in the bios..

Should i be worried?

Sluggish PC Performance

Why is it everytime i scroll on pages that have large photo like this my pc will struggle to scroll past it? It'll hang for a bit and sluggishly go past the photos. Cpu usage will spike to 100 from 60-80. Im using P4 1.7ghz. This processor should be able to support the simple task of scrolling right? I'm using opera with 25 tabs opened.

Oh and i suspect this had something to do with my graphic card or even psu. Im now using the 9550 and i cant even play dota on EVERYTHING LOW. That doesnt sound right does it? Playing CS sometimes jerks a bit too. Before this i was using Geforce 4 MX 440 and didnt have these kind of problem. Using Mx440, dota was smooth and CS was even smoother, 0 jerkiness.

Pentium 4 1.7ghz
Ati radeon 9550 XT 256mb
768 DDR-400 Ram
17" CRT
Chapalang PSU 400 W
3 HDD

Getting online without phone line

So does anyone know how do i online with no availability of phone line? It's been over 394days or 34,041,600 seconds since i last surfed the net in my very own house I live in Miri, sarawak with very limited broadband coverage from other isp. Streamyx is the only broadband that has coverage in my area but without phone line ...
