PC Restart After Boot

Dear All,

I know I should read the pinned post before asking but it seems i cant find any answer from that post. Here is my situation :

1. My fren pc, when start the pc, it will load the windows, you can see the desktop but just after it load everything, then it will restart automatically, therefore my fren suspect got virus, then unplug it and plug it into my pc to recover the important data and plan to format the harddisk
2. my computer is working fine with 2pata, 1sata and 1dvdwriter and windows XP
3. then shutdown my pc, plug in my fren harddisk (sata)
4. my pc cant start at all, therefore i suspect not enough power
5. i unplug 1pata harddisk, still cant start
6. i unplug everything with only the C drive harddisk (pata) and my fren harddisk
7. can start pc, load the windows XP logo, load the desktop, then restart (facing the same problem with my fren pc)
8. then i unplug my fren harddisk, only with my C drive harddisk (pata)
9. now after loading the windows xp logo, it got black screen then only load the desktop, it hang at the black screen with the mouse pointer only

can anyone please help me on this? as i need to recover some files on my C drive urgently. thanks for all the replies

Network Cable Unplugged

Modem: Aztech (free modem from stremyx)

Problem details
First occurence of problem: on Friday night
Problem frequency: first time
Problem description:
1. the modem with 4lights, PPP (i have set the username and password in the modem page, so it will auto connect when on the pc), DSL, EHT, POWER
2. in windows, it displayed two computer icon beside the clock at the lower right hand corner indicating the "Network cable unplugged", but i check the network cable (yellow color) is plug with the modem and the cpu.

Troubleshooting done :
1. try to login the modem page : 192.168.1.1 but cant online
2. try to ping the 192.168.1.1 but cant online
3. try to go online but cant online
4. try to reset the modem by pushing the small hole at behind and try again the above, but cant online
5. try to call streamyx helpline, 1300 something, but cant help me. still cant online.
6. try to use additional network card (currently using the network point from motherboard) but still cant online
7. try to disable the network card and enable again, but cant online
8. try to update the network driver but cant online
9. try to online with my fren laptop, can
10. try to change the network cable (yellow color) but cant online
11. try to use my fren modem, the modem got lights but still cant online

Anyone have any advice how to further troubleshoot again on this?

Cant Access To USB Drive ~

Dear All,

Currently im facing some difficulties to access ALL the USB Drive which include :

1. external harddisk 160GB (Seagate)
2. 512MB PQI thumb drive
3. Lexmark P3150 (AIO) card reader.

All this is connected with USB port. Here is the details :

1. All this working/accessible 2weeks ago.
2. It first start with my external harddisk, which i can see it in my computer but when i double click on it, it does not response at all. i need to click on the 'Folder' tree option to access the drive.
3. After awhile (i think 1week), when i try to double click on the drive in my computer, my pc will restart automatically. after restart i try again double click the drive in my computer, it will work but after awhile (around 1hr) it will automatically restart the whole pc.
4. this (the above point 2 and 3) happen to my thumb drive and lexmark reader also.
5. yesterday, its getting worst coz i cant see my drive detected in my computer.

Troubleshooting done :
1. i try to change another working harddisk to replace my current external harddisk, problem still persist.
2. i try to change the IDE cable for the external drive, problem still persist.
3. i try to use another USB cable, problem still persist.
4. i try with other thumbdrive, problem still persist.
5. i check/scan the pc with Norton Antivirus 10 and Microsoft Malicious but found nothing.

Any kind hearted ppl out there to give some advice? Thanks a lot

I just try my thumbdrive on my colleague computer which with F-Secure software. When i double click on my drive in my computer it gave me this :

Malicious code found in file C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\SVOHOST.EXE.
Infection: Trojan-PSW.Win32.QQPass.pa
Action: The file was deleted.

It says deleted, but we try to access again it still having the same message. This thumbdrive still can be access from the 'Folder' tree option. Here attached with the HijackThis log.
