Renovated house in old housing estate

Dear All,

Doing a survey for renovating a 20x70 single storey landed freehold house. Concept will be like something like the pictures below (not actual). Non-g&g area. 1000sqft built up, 3 bedrooms and 2 baths.

* single storey instead of 1.5 storey.

Objective is to rent out for a couple of years and sell later.

As we know we can change the house but not the surrounding. The surrounding is similar to those 20-30 years old single storey urban housing estate. Roads are slightly narrow. Something like the picture below (not actual housing estate). Some surrounding houses have been renovated (about 20% renovated) and only 1 house converted to double storey.

Location is 10km from the KLCC and surrounded with good amenities. No more landed houses coming up but loads of condos.

If you are planning to buy a place to stay, which will you buy? Assuming you qualify for loan for all the options and enough cash for their respective down payments. They all meet your family requirements and all within the same area.

Example: If ur car cost u RM100k & ur net worth is RM500k, then u have spent 20% of ur net worth on the car.

The harddisk for my creative zen vision W is busted. Anybpdy know where I can purchase 1.8" HDD (5mm)?

Anybody know where to send my creative player for repair in Malaysia? I got my player from overseas.

What do you think of this overall development? Do you think the shoplot & condo will do well?

TESCO Old Klang Road (Something like a mall concept)
- 3 storey shoplots (above Tesco only….currently selling at 1.5-2M)
- 3 blocks of condo (above shoplot…to be launched)
- Location: Opposition Old Klang Road Wet Market, near Tmn Desa Entrance
- Concourse area open air between 2 blocks of shoplots
- Completion 2011

Pros
- Location & Tesco

Cons
- Small time developer (Aston Villa Sdn Bhd…past project Scott Villa) with the current economy situation
- Similar concept not doing well like the one in Sri Petaling & Serdang
