Plot
Haruka Kotoura, a girl who was born with the ability to read minds, has often been shunned and alone due to her ability causing trouble for others. After transferring to a new high school, she meets Yoshihisa Manabe, a dim-witted boy who resolves to stay by her side. Together, they join their school's ESP Research Club.

Haruka is a girl who was born with the psychic ability to read minds. Sakamoto Ryota is an unemployed 22 year old who lives with his mother. In the real world, there may be nothing special about him, but online, he's one of the world's top players of the combat game called Btooom. One day, he awakes in wat appears to be a tropical island, though he has no memory of how or why he has come to be there. while wandering around, Ryota sees someone and calls out for help. The stranger responds by throwing a bomb at him, now Ryota realizes both that his life is in danger, and that he has somehow been trapped in a real-life version of his favorite game. Will Ryota be able to survive long enough to figure out how and why he ended up there.

The school romantic comedy revolves around a second-year high school student named Sorata Kanda who lives in Sakurasou, the dormitory for problem children at Sorata's school. One day, Mashiro Shiina —a cute girl who happens to be also a cosmopolitan, brilliant artist— moves into Sakurasou.

Sorata thinks to himself that he should protect Mashiro from the weirdos at Sakurasou, but Mashiro has a surprising secret: she has no idea how to take care of herself. She gets lost if she goes out, and her room is a complete mess. Sorata's dorm mates designate him as the "master" of Mashiro, and thus, an ordinary boy and a brilliant girl must live like "a master and his pet."

The official website for the Sasami-san@Ganbaranai television anime revealed the cast for the anime through a promotional video on Saturday. The Japanese television station TBS first announced the cast during its TBS Anime Festa 2012 event earlier in the day.

Akiyuki Shinbo is teaming up again with his Madoka Magica and Bakemonogatari studio SHAFT to make the television anime of Akira's Sasami-san@Ganbaranai light novel series. Katsuhiko Takayama (And Yet the Town Moves, Love, Election, & Chocolate) is in charge of the scripts, and Hiroki Harada (Romeo × Juliet, Yu-Gi-Oh! Zexal) is designing the characters.

The story follows a hikikomori (shut-in) named Sasami who is unmotivated about even changing clothes or eating. Her brother Kamiomi takes care of her, even though she despises his slave-like nature. Sasami spends her days viewing the outside world via a "Brother Surveillance Tool" on her computer. In the outside world, the three beautiful Yagami sisters and Sasami's brother are in the middle of relationships worthy of a romantic comedy.

After his earlier Kyōran Kazoku Nikki novels were adapted into anime in 2008, Akira launched the Sasami-san@Ganbaranai light novel series in 2009. The eighth volume shipped in June.

The series will premiere on the TBS and BS-TBS channels in Japan in January.

The current ordinance already prevents the sale and renting of "harmful publications" — materials that are "sexually stimulating, encourages cruelty, and/or may compel suicide or criminal behavior" to people under the age of 18. Bill 156 would require the industry to also regulate "manga, anime, and other images (except for real-life photography)" that "unjustifiably glorify or exaggerate" certain sexual or pseudo sexual acts. Another section of the revised bill would allow the government to directly regulate the above images if the depicted acts are also "considered to be excessively disrupting of social order" such as rape.
