I am now at my early 30's, and I don't see me doing good in my current industry (Mech Eng/project engineer in Construction Project). My salary on increased by mere 10~15% in years (I changed job twice to get this increment). I don't see myself fit in this industry (I neither doing good or bad during work, just ordinary).

I am interested in programming (I found out about this after I take programming course during my Mech Eng degree, I can code in C/C++, php & mysql (of course html/css/js) and I do help people to setup website sometime. Currently I am learning python and consider to join a bootcamp. I am good in Math and Statistic.

Is this field really promising? Will they accept employee that not from IT/Programmer/Statistic background?
