Saving in bank earn you max 1% per annum but it is very flexible, can withdraw money anytime.

However, saving in Insurance company do not have flexibility to withdraw money anytime, but will have extra life or disability coverage. at the same time the interest return will be better. 3-4% per annum after certain period.
