[WTA] Radiator Fan

Hi everyone, I have a question need to ask for everyone opinion.

Ok, Here my story. My car is Toyota LE AE80 (27years now). Just repair my radiator due to leaking at bottom.
After install back and everything fine. He told me there is a cable which is connected near the temp sensor.

If plugin, the fan will work with sensor, and start working/turning when the temp over 50% according our temp meter inside the car. reduce the temp below 50%, and stop.
Unplug= always on no matter how.

He advise me unplug it. let the fan always on. So the engine always cool in action. Healthy he say.

However, My father friend, told my father the fan should let it auto mode. else that thing design for what!?(well quite true)
The reason he say is, if the engine always cool in action. it will reduce the life between engine piston Ring & cylinder.

Whats your opinion about this?
