Complaint: Store did not put thermal paste

I don't know if this is the right place as I did not find complain thread. But I need to tell this.

Some months ago I buy a new motherboard from Viewnet store and asked them to replace it to my PC. They charged me RM40 for the replacement service alone, so I expected a tiptop job.

Well they did good job on cable management and others, but unfortunately they did not apply the thermal paste on processor, I checked after my PC always shut off on full load. So I need to buy a thermal paste and apply myself. It was a noob mistake and at least I hope they did not do that on purpose.

Do you think windows 10 a bit heavy?

Windows 10 running on my laptop. 2.16GHz 4GB RAM. I can feel it becomes slower than Win 8. I only do typing and surfing stuff.

Can become a lecturer if I have poor B.degree?

Hi all. I would like to ask your opinion.

I am now pursuing master's degree and it seems promising. I've planned to continue for PhD also.

But the only problem is I have a poor Bachelor's degree result, which is about 2.6 CGPA. It is the only part in my academic records that I screw up.

I have about 2 years working experience before. I want to pursue a PhD because I just like research and expanding knowledge, and make it useful to the world.

My B.degree is communication and computer engineering. My master is microelectronics engineering. I plan to continue in my master's field for PhD. Heck i didn't even choose my B.degree course back then but blindly followed my father's choice(not to condemn but a useful lesson for me).

Well, with that B.degree's CGPA in hand, do you think I am in the correct path to become a lecturer?

Hi all..I want to post my HDD for RMA to Seagate.

So I read the packaging guide and it shows to use the thermoformed plastic and I don't have it.

So do I need to strictly follow the instruction or can I use anything else? eg. bubble wrap, paper etc..

Is my power supply suitable for my rig?

Hi, I use this rig:

CPU - AMD FX 8320
GPU - HD 4870
RAM - 16 GB

Nevermind other components because I think only my CPU and GPU are so power consuming.

Currently I use power supply Xigmatek 500W. My AMD proc failed before, I think it burned out. Apart from the cooling which I think
AMD proc should withstand 40-60 C temperature just fine, is my power supply not suitable for my rig?

Ex-employer sent Fine Letter

Hello all.

Actually this happened to my friend.

About two months ago her job contract had finished then her Ex-employer sent another two months contract for her to continue working.
She DIDN'T SIGN THE CONTRACT and didn't go working after her contact finished.

Then now she received a fine letter she must pay around rm2000 because she didn't go to work, or else legal action will be taken.

update : She must pay the fine within 7 days.

So, in this case she didn't do anything wrong right? Any advice on how to fight this?

I try to record my voice with my laptop but a lot of noise came out from it. That's the problem.
I already used a good mic.

So if I want to record the voice with a PC, do I need a sound card?

Hi..

Anybody knows a dentist who can do instant or really fast teeth straightening.

Normal way is to apply braces which takes 2 years. I have a slightly uneven teeth and looking for a way to straightening it fast.

Hi guys,

Can anyone suggest me what proc, mobo n RAM I can get with about RM1000 or cheaper?

Purpose is for graphic design, not really 3D but need more power n RAM for rendering nowadays..

I still use Core2Duo with 4GB ram and my pc run out of memory when rendering..

8gb of ram i think is enough but if can get 16gb is better

and processor at least 4 core and 3ghz.

mobo no idea..

Unknown phone number asking for my job profile

I got a phone call from a guy and the phone number is unknown. I reject it several times before but when I pick up the phone he told me he is from idunrememberwhatagency he got my number from my university xxx, so he got me off guard there. He asked me about my current job and salary range and I answered him. Then he asked me whether I am satisfied with my current job and I answered yes.

Although he didn't asked any classified information (bank card number etc), but thinking again maybe I should not answer anything from an unknown phone number. I think it is rude to use unknown phone number. Maybe future scammer or someone spying. What u think?

Hi. I am a fresh graduate from electronic engineering field and got low cgpa(<2.6). Now, I think it is hard for me to be an engineer, but I want to be an engineer and be a master at it no matter how long it will take.

So I need advice. I think if I start from technician at a big company I can gain experience and knowledge. Is it wise? And can a bachelor's degree graduate be a technician because I think it is a position for diploma holder.

Or should I just look for engineering job right away? what type of company will take a fresh graduate of my level? What type of engineer I can be?
