Upconversion of SD content via receiver?

Hey guys,
Wanted some info on receivers.. I'm hoping to buy a receiver soon and i've pretty much settled on a Pioneer VSX-1019.. Only problem is I don't have any bluray discs and i'm using astro standard-definition for now... What I want to know is will there be any significant difference in picture quality if i connect my dvd player (via component) and astro box (via composite) through my receiver to my tv(via hdmi) or is it better to connect them direct to tv and let the tv upconvert it? I'm using samsung series 5 full hd 40 inch lcd tv... If so, how do I activate this feature?

Hey guys,
i bought a N95 two days ago and to my great dismay it does not show sim contacts and asks me to copy them to phone memory. Is there anyway to use sim contacts as i travel frequently and use many different sim cards and wish to have only the contacts on the SIM card of the country i'm in.
