Reason for sale: Moving house, this system i installed at rented house due to no grills on windows installed by house owner, and for the new house, i cannot go for this system since i forgot to include it in my renovation plan while plaster ceiling already done, so have to go for wireless system. Advantage for this system is no maintenance needed, as for wireless, need to periodically check for sensors battery. Can come and test, siren damn loud, all you just need to do, find an installer, or if you have contractors friend, can ask them for help to install, can install in conduit, wall hack or do it yourself just lay wire, option to use this as standalone alarm or subscribe to ADT monitoring for RM75 per month, up to you, interested please give me a call.

Hello all,

First of all, thank you for all the incoming advise and consultation i will receive later, i appreciate that a lot.

This will be my renovation journey, thought i have no idea from where should i start first, so advise needed to jump start my journey.

I bought a new condo in Shah Alam, Kristal View, 1100 sqft semi-d design, with windows facing the next neighbor house. I have 25k to spend on renovation so please do share your thoughts if items i listed below need to skip, or any advise you can think of, and which one should be prioritize first, attached also is the floor plan.

I will get my key this coming Friday.

1. Kitchen cabinet + kitchen appliances - L shape, with one more table top outside the kitchen for wet kitchen, just for cooking purpose. Inside will be dry kitchen with kitchen appliances installed, sink, small gas burner, microwave + oven. Will move the current normal sink to outside and couple it with wet kitchen tabletop

2. Grill - 1 x sliding door, 7 windows, 2 bathroom, i have a balcony, should i install grill on balcony or sliding door? i prefer balcony for security but for sure it will block view, please advise.

3. Wiring - need to do some adjustment, for what i can think now, looping for kitchen cabinet area and TV area, maybe 10 plug point for TV cabinet, 5 for kitchen cabinet, and 5 more for home office work area

4. Plaster ceiling - dont know if this one important or not, please advise, my ceiling is in high type, i prefer larger airflow so if install plaster ceiling will it affect airflow? please advise.

5. Water filter - 3M currently have promo, thinking of getting that

9. Painting - thinking of to just give some variations on certain area, like TV area and dining area with different color, others stay same, can i paint myself? what should i know about painting?

Hi,

Not sure if this the correct section to ask, if admin feels this is not the right place, kindly move my thread to another section..

I have this problem:

Proc : i7 2600
Mobo : Asus P8Z68
Ram : Kingston HyperX
Cooler : cooler master geminII S524

When i fix this cooler, after everything done, 2 of my ram slot didnt work, upon checking when i remove the proc, one of the mobo pin which is beneath the processor, the veryyyy small pin was bend over.. i tried to straighten it, but it just went bend again..

i believe this is the issue, since my ram slot work fine before that.. so anyone can fix this? warranty is over, or shall i just proceed for new mobo? if new mobo, can suggest the chipset that suit i7 2600? i want only asus.

I'm looking for a total solution like netacademy.com.my, this is for new college that has already open it's branch in KL.

As per footnote of netacademy.com.my, it was developed by in-house software team, so I have no idea on what it's actually running on. I want to know what solution its running on, what platform, what soft of budget to have a total system like that.

For those who have any idea, appreciate your guys feedback.

Well, situation is getting more complicated, so I will reply unofficially, dont ask who am I, I will not answer that question.

1. P2P Traffic Shaping - The UNLIMITED terms come to unlimited hours you online, unlimited download, download as may as you can, but when it comes the network stability, for company sake, tmnet have to do that, tmnet shape the traffic, not BLOCK it, multi-million voip company, other small provider, starts complaining on unstable data transfer thru tmnet backbone, fair and square, tmnet shape the speed on p2p since most of you keep it to the maximum for downloading porns and dvdrip, tmnet own the network, not you, so tmnet are the one whose responsible to keep it stable, what happen if tmnet remove the throttle one day?? the network will down, and who will scream on the phone when they cannot connect and receive error 678/676 ?? YOU!!

2. Wanna switch?? Think twice on their terms and condition, limited data transfer per month and monitored log on your connection, take a look more deeper into that t&c, dont you notice that they will take a law action against you if they find out that you doing something illegal on their network??

3. Most of you keep comparing tmnet with other isp, the often will be singnet, wahhh 10mb, so fast lor, but do you still remember that you can get caught and throw into jail for downloading something illegal?? dvdrip?? windows ?? microsoft software ?? tell me how many of you are downloading linux distros everyday?? Dont want to get you confuse, but just take a look into singnet simple t&c, notice that every action will get charged, and note that they dont stated that you will get caught using their high speed broadband to download illegal things, but their gov do, but do our gov??

4. Ahh you want to joint and open up your own ISP, one day when your network has been fully utilized by p2p users at the maximum speed, tell me what will you do to keep your network stable?? I will give you a list :

1. Limit their download to certain GB per month
2. Drop their connection
3. Stop future subscription
4. Limit the bandwidth on certain protocol

At last, you network will fail, not worth all the investment.

5. Let say tmnet cooperate with gov ( just like sg ) and all those giant IT companies like microsoft, norton, ea.com and open up the your connection log, guess how many of you will go to jail for downloading illegal things?? but do tmnet and our gov??

6. Most of you, when calling to the call center and scream on your connection problem, slow, frequent disconnection, got error connecting, have you check on your side?? How many of you know this :

6.1 New house and apartments build by the developer nowadays is equipped with parallel-ready line, do you notice it with that nicely build phone socket inside the wall?? Most of you did not, then you install Streamyx, after some time period when the signal goes weaker because of the parallel, your connection will drop, you call up and scream you got disconnected like crazy! Furthermore, you install your alarm also on the same line to save budget! Malaysian, pay less for the best!

6.2 Error 718 - how many of you know that this is the error generated when your dialer is allready corrupted ??

6.3 You are using router mode connection and when you cannot connect, you call up and then the agents ask you to disable the router mode connection and use manual connection,why?? Can you see the error generated inside the router?? When the agents trace the line status and it return UP, they will advise you to use manual connection to see what is the error code, but how many of you know how to?? Frankly, malaysian are illiterate but too proud to admit their weakness, use router mode connection but dunno how to troubleshoot when problem occurs, so how come??

6.4 How many of you know what is spyware and it's function?? How they get into your PC?? Spyware sucks all the bandwidth available for them to transmit the data you input so that they can transfer all available info to their server, they get inside via your cookies when you surf on porn and warez site! And after that, you call up and scream your connection is very slow, without even knowing that you are infected, and one more funny thing, you browse to your favourite site, and you cannot go in, timeout, you call up and scream cannot browse, without even pinging the site and do traceroute, ahh yes it happens, how many of you know how to traceroute in windows??

7. The last one, the hottest topic, inviting other players to come in and do business. You keep on saying tmnet monopoly everything and can do whateva it wants, so that's why you want other players to come in and fulfill your needs, oh yes unlimited everything, but can you act not that super dumb and think, who was actually start the bandwidth shaping?? the overseas isp rite?? then who actually you hope to come in and give you unlimited everything?? isp from mars??

That's for now, you malaysian are still lucky.

CCNA + RHCE + MCSE

Hello folks,

I want some opinion from you guys, since a lot of us here were from experienced professional, i think you guys might be able to help me sort it out.

I have been working in IT field for almost 9 years, now working as a lvl2 tech support for some it company, was born in terengganu where i definitely have no chance before to pursue any professional cert, now i'm here, in KL, where all the chance were at my fingertip, so i wanna ask you guys something before i proceed further..

As you know, 9 years in IT field makes me so familiar with IT terminology, so i'm thinking of pursuing CCNA + MCSE + RHCE, as you know, MCSE and RHCE definitely you can do a self-practice, buy 2 PC, install win2003 and redhat, and play with it, but what about CCNA where you need to deal with hardware?? I search on the net and found a simulator for it, but is it the same situation like real hardware that we use when we take a class?? I dont mind pour in some money for a simulator, but is it worth it?? because at the same time, i also wanna save, by playing with a simulator, we can set a time when we are really ready to take the exam, but by taking a class, it can take a maximum up to 2 years, but definitely, i want to pursue it asap, so what are your opinion??

1. Buy a simulator, play with it, then proceed with an exam at thomson prometric

2. Take class to play with real hardware + buy a simulator, when ready, quit class, take exam

3. Just take class, wait for 2 years for it to finish

So which is the best?? Really need your opinions, thanks

I would like to ask this question, although I have search from this forum on keyword "datacom" but I find that the answer is not enough for me to make the decision, I have been to their interview ( for Dlink project ), and still waiting for the answer next week, that is what the recruitment firm told me, so before they accept me, and I accept the offer, make a step to move out from my existing career, I would like a complete answer, so I really appreciate if you guys could help me out, my question will be :

1. What was it like working with Datacom?? Working environment ??

2. What about politic in workplace ?? Got control by one race ?? Not mean to be racist, but I have seen a lot of them in big companies.

3. What are the total amount of paycheck you can get each month??

4. What are chances for career growth opportunities??

5. Any other benefits like financial support for studies??

6. What are the region we need to support?? Worldwide?? Asia Pacific??

7. Recruitment firm told me that after probation period, I will work straight under Datacom, is that true??

8. Do we have to be a robot, follow script, or using an advance knowledgebase designed by experts??

9. What are the AHT for one call?? ACW??

10. How many calls in average you will need to attend in 1 day?? 40?? 30??
