Acer Aspire 4743ZG Screen Cracked

ok what happened is, my lil sis brought her Acer laptop home and slept on the bed with the laptop and I think the cable twisted to the front and the laptop snapped close (the model's monitor is heavier than my timeline's monitor and the snapping mechanism is really easy for a heavy monitor) and so the cable with the bulbous part cracked the side of the monitor. Currently hooking the thing up with my desktop lcd monitor and my mom is searching for the receipt.

1) Its NEW, like a couple of months new... is it under warranty? because dad buy extended warranty last time.
2) PRICE? its 14" HD LED LCD.... same as my own Acer Aspire 4810TZ except the cover is heavy. I've heard it between rm700 to rm1k.... if the story that warranty didn't cover is true, my dad will be truly pissed off.... (see 1)
3) Since its physical crack... *I pressed the cracked part of the lcd, its like The Borgias's Opening Credits* is there a DYI alternative? but I assume nothing I could do at this stage could ever fix it.... right?

Science Degree = Rich?

Hmm.. there's something that crossed my mind...

Does people do have a stereotypical thinking that having a science degree means you will get rich?

All I knew is that both of my parents work in the related subject, my dad is a forensic scientist for the government while my mom is a chemistry/biology teacher, so I was raised to enter science-related field when I grew up. But never once did it cross my mind that I want to be rich by it, and all I know is I'm good in it... oh how innocent girl I was before.... BTW, my first sis is a computer science grad, my second sis is a doctor and my third sis is a applied chemical grad and I'm a second year biomedical undergrad... All i know is, my second sis is the highest earning among the bunch... figures...

Anyway, this is a worrying trend as this is the fact that the percentage of our generation of youth are highly educated rather than before, so the job market for the related field was very limited to the experienced grads rather than much newer ones (this trend only happens in Malaysia the end of 20th century...) and with the mushrooming of new local university and private university that offer variety of degree that once "catering the national demand", we have highly educted people who consider themselves as elite and refuse to work in jobs that they think was degrading.

plus, the blame in our education ministry for cultivating the false message that want only the brightest to enter science field and making the general society give a rather degrading perception that arts or literature students need less bright students to study it.

All I see was, there are smart people who are genuinely want to have more knowledge, study in a field and good in it and got recognition and got rich by it..... and there's smart people who want to get rich in the first place and follow the former smart people's way and found out that the field is boring but they goes with the flow of life and try to get a short cut but then they fail and make an announcement to the world that the field suck because you won't get money from studying from it.

Hmmm.... what do you think?
