RAM dual channel questions

i bought a computer just few months ago, and it comes with 1GB RAM DDR2. it is a dual core pentium E and P35 chipset as told by the sales person in the low yat plaza. I felt that 1Gb isnt enough, so i called that sales person to help me upgrade to 2Gb, he told me that I need to get the exact same RAM (same brand) only can I fully utilize the dual channel. But the thing is, the ram that comes with my computer is one unknown brand called Aeneon, i wanted to get another ram which is a Kingston ram. is it possible to mix ram? my friend told me as long as both equal in terms of speed and timing, it is sufficient for dual channel. how true is that?

from the website : http://www.jaring.my/service/broadband/ind...ont=flite_wired

there are 2 1mbps packages, one is called basic the other one is standard. what's the difference actually? the standard package is more expensive, and yet the speed is same. I dont get it.

by the way, how is the performance of this Jaring bb?anyone using it right now?
