Connect Streamyx through a large network

HI,

I'm a university student and I have problem with myinternet connection in my hostel. My hostel is using wifi therefore the internet connection is extremely slow during the peak hours.
Back at home, I have a streamyx account. So I would like to ask is there any method so that I can use my streamyx account over the university's network. Because when I try to dial it, I get error 651.

Please advice as I'm not very good in networking.

Chances of Getting into USM by Appeal

Hi all,

I've just finish my STPM last year (2010) with CGPA 3.67. I applied for USM, putting mechanical engineering as first choice. Last Friday (10th June), the intake result is released and I was quite disappointed because I'm not being offered. I wanted very much to enter USM. Now I'm trying to appeal with Kejuruteraan Pembuatan dan Pengurusan and also Material Engineering.

But right now I'm worried about the chances of successful appeal. Can anybody tell me about the chances of successful appeal and is there any alternative ways to get into USM?

Advice & recommendation on Acer 4820TG

Hi, I'm looking forward to buy a new laptop and I'm doing some research all over the internet.

Currently I'm looking at the Acer 4820TG with Intel i5-480, 2GB DDR3 ram, ATI HD6550 1Gb dedicated graphic card and 640GB HDD. But what I heard from my friend is that Acer lappy will get hot very fast and the quality not so good (will have a lots of problems later on). He recommended me Asus. Perhaps its quality is better but in term of appearance, it looks very bulky and dull. My opinion is, there's no company that guarantees 100% problem-free products. So to prove that my decision on Acer 4820TG isn't wrong, I would like to seek you guy's advice and recommendation, especially from Acer 4820TG owners.

Advice me on Dell products too, its either Vostro 3500 or Inspiron 15 if I'm to get Dell's lappy.

My budget is around Rm2000 to Rm2600. Preferably good looking plus good performance (both or gaming and graphics design and some programming)

Need help on my MSN messenger

Hi everyone, I need some guide to solve my MSN problem..
recently when i try to sign into my MSN account, it shows the
error code 80048820 and extended error code 80048439

i've tried several accounts but all same thing happened.
i also search through the internet for solutions and tried all the ways
(proxy setting, time, MSN dll file and others) but still cant solve it..

before this, i manage to sign in but will keep on DC, then this problem comes..
if im not wrong, this problem only happens to certain people, not all..
cuz i can sign in using ebuddy and many ppl are online, asking me why im using ebuddy..

so can it be any bug or msn server problem??
please guide me with some solutions or at least let me know whats wrong..

Abnormal temperature problem

Before i start anything, these are my com specs:
AMD Athlon X2 4600+
ECS A780GM-A
Team Elite DDR2 800Mhz PC6400
Seagate 250GB 16MB
Sapphire HD3650 256MB DDR3

My problem:
The temperature of the CPU varies a big range of temp and get overheated.
Eg. idle temperature is 23degCelsius, when i stress it, within 2 sec, it rises up to 40++degC.
That sounds quite normal. But then before this my CPU temperature never exceeds 50 degC.
It started today when i playing crysis, my com sudenly blackout and shutdown (cuz i've already set shutdown temp).
Then i start my com again and found that the temperature mad edi. I stress the CPU to test the temp and get 70degC , and restart again..
When idle, the temperature can down to 16degC.

Before the problem starts:
Before this, i've add a 6cm to my NB heatsink cuz its vry hot. Until yest, i took out the fan.
Then today i've this problem. I've also change the thermal compound cuz the thermal compound come with the AMD HSF
is too sticky. Now im using tuniq TX2 thermal grease.
Before this i dont face any problem even before i add the 6cm fan.

Hybrid corssfire on 780G chipset

i currently using a 780G chipset with a HD3450 graphic card but the performance is not so satisfied..
So wanna get some ideas from the PROs in this forum whether any other ATI graphic card supports hybrid crossfire?
How bout HD2600?
i heard some ppl say it can but when i search through the internet but nobody suggest this model..

Anyway to revive a harddisk?

Hi guys..

Recently i had a dead 80GB Maxtor HDD cuz of a short circuit at the harddisk electrical circuit.
Its an obvious short circuit because one of the electrical components had burnt.

So i wanna ask if there is anything as replacing the HDD electrical circuit.
and i wonder that would work..
or is there any other way to revive my HDD without a file lost in it.
any shop offers such repair?

my main intention is not to save money but to retrieve all my data and files inside.
please guide my on this.
