i am confused by this statement

The Indirection Operator
The indirection operator (*) dereferences a pointer.
It allows you to access the item that the pointer points to.

int *intptr = &x;
cout << *intptr << endl;

output is 25

shouldnt my output be the address of x?? say 0x0345?
