Router Setting Possibility

Dear all support, I am a novice here and I would just like to understand some possibility in technology only before I really dive into in the detail setup with my technician.

The scenario is as followed:
A hotel that provide free wifi for all staying customer. Would like to setup the wifi so that it has an idle timeout base on the user network activity. But that is not all. Additionally, I will like to allow unlimited time connection, meaning to OFF the idle timeout during the day and on 10PM onward, I would like the router to automatically enable the idle timeout function after user device inactivity.

P/S: When I mention the term "idle timeout after inactivity", I mean that the user device(smartphone/laptop/etc) will get disconnected once their device is inactive on the network for say like 120second.

I do not need any detail setup about this. I just like to know if this kind of setup is Possible or Not Possible. Thats all.

Dlink Share Center

Dear all lowyat and tech savy people here, I would like to have a question here and whoever able to help me solve I am willing to pay for him. I will personal pay as donation method.

Device: D-link Share Centre DNS 320L

Purpose of usage: Use in office to create a share network so all the department can connect to access the folder for read/write purpose.

Problem: Ok, I've been setting up the share centre as instructed from the instruction manual, connecting the share centre to the router that connect all the pc in the office. After that, via Ethernet cable, I connect my computer to the share centre directly for set up. I set an fixed IP address for this share centre so that all computer in the office can connect to the share centre through that IP address. Everything has been good after set up. After that, in every PC in my office, I set up the shortcut folder that connect to the share centre for its purpose. For awhile, everyone can create file and folder in the volume, and everything works as usual. Until about 1 hour later, all the computer in the office could not connect to the internet. Funny thing is Skype is still working, but not the browser and email. So I've checked with Google and found out that Skype do not use DNS and all other does, so i thought DNS is the culprit. I set up a Open DNS for the router, all the laptop and PC, and for the share centre as well. 208.67.222.222 and 208.67.220.220.

After that i restart all modem and router. Internet went normal and the share centre is normal. But again, after awhile of using, the internet stucked. Same case, Skype works, but not the others. This time I suspect its the Share centre that cause the problem. So i try to unplug the share centre, restart, and everything works fine, all the time. UNTIL i plug back in my share centre into the router. Things went doom again. I am very sure its the share centre that cause the internet to stuck. (Browser, handphone wifi, everything fail, except Skype)

So guys, if you guys know what is the problem here and can help me to solve. I am really willing to pay a fee to them as a donation appreciate. No troll.

Another thing that i suspect is the router capacity/quality? Is it possible its the cheap router that cannot take the load up? Im really not sure, but I do not want to buy a router just for trial and error purpose. Its a waste of money.

The only defect of this laptop is the battery. It's a typical laptop battery dying symptom. Hook up a new battery and you're be good. Blizzard close the selling section for gem and pages and tomes? so that people spend time hunting and crafting?

Hi fellow LYN member. anyway I am here to ask some question from professional out there. Lately i hitting to the gym quite often. I mean, the schedule i go will be 1 day off 1 day on 1 day off..... continuously. not sure is it too much or not....

But my programme is like, monday chest, tuesday rest, wednesday shoulder/back, thursday rest, friday leg/abs, sat rest, sun chest... continuously.

Now i increasing my weight intensity while maintaining the set and rep.

SO, what i know is DOM happen maybe a day after the workout... meaning on MONDAY i workout, tuesday i will feel sore or what right?? BUT the weird thing is. why my DOM happen super delayed? weird.... I mean for example, if MONDAY I workout chest, tuesday no pain, then wednesday morning only my chest sore... WHAT!?!?!?!? lol.... my body jetlag or what???

anyone experience or veteran gym kaki to solve my problem? TQ for ur help!

SX bass guitar

Just like from my title... I wanted to listen to you guys about SX bass guitar package... I heard a lot of things like "ANYTHING come from the "BOX" will be crap" ...

I'm a electric guitar player for around 5 years i guess.. but surprisingly I never played a bass guitar before...

now i am going to do some recording stuff... Thru audio interface and thru computer using Albeton Live and Line6 toneport...

SO here, i humbly hope that someone could give me some advise regarding the SX package guitar... Ok, actually the package comes along with amp, strap, pick, dvd and all those stuff.. but i get to know from a seller who wanna let go his SX bass guitar ONLY at a very reasonable low price. I don't want to spend a lot in a bass since i am not going to use for gig or what... just home recording, and normal playing stuff... will it still be able to do slap, abuse, and so on??

To be short, is this worth buying for my purposes? or is it really just a TOY guitar?

The wonder of Guitar Setup

Hi everyone... I am here to open this thread because I can't find a single thread that are related to how well a guitar setup is. (Yes there are tons of guitar setup guide from uncle google or even lyn here tell how to setup for a good action, a good saddle height, a good neck relief, ....etc...

There are a lot of guitar luthier out there, ones with professional experience, or ones with fully passion but lack of experience... i believe diff luthier have their "own" perfect setup idea in their mind... just like diff player or genres have diff setup needs, and diff hand feels diff on their guitar.

Due to diff luthier at their own local place... for example me... i never tried on professional player's guitar...but i do played on professional setup guitar...but in such case, my professional guitar setup doesnt mean it has the same setup as another guy over the sea~ p/s: ANYONE of you been very very curious how is the setup on Andy Mckee's guitar? or steve vai? or john petrucci? or even Jimi Hendrix's ?!? this is why i start this thread to explain the feeling u guys have...

Well, so can anyone tell your story or express your feeling how you feel toward your guitar setup? (it is down to personal taste, just like some ppl like buzzing on their guitar, some ppl hate it like there never did before).

I'll start mine....

4 years ago, i got my 1st electric guitar(Ibanez GIO)... don't even knowing the term "setup"... i got it, and run... back home.. played for 2 years until i know a good guitar is starting from its setup... then i do experience and google it myself... and did a good setup.. until i feel satisfy.. but at that time, im still curious how good is the GOOD mean from a PRO....

3 years later, my Ibanez got stolen..FK*(&$)(@*&$.... then i got myself a cheap squier bullet, then during my studies at UK... i got myself a Tele Squier.... why squier? because i fall in love to the setup i should say... i have the budget for fender... but i tried for like half day at the shop, insist of fender is better, but the great setup from the shop owner of this tele just make it SCREAM.... for ur info, this mat salleh shop i visit at UK, have experience dealing with those epic guitar god...but i forgot who liaw... eric clapton?? i forgot....

now, my bullet strat, setup by myself over many trial and error... have a super super low action and the neck feel like butter to me to play on... of coz without any buzz except at the 10th fret 3rd and 4th string.. a little buzzy when picked hard...

Lastly, i have an ibanez s670fm now... the tone is Gilerrr coz of the dimarzio tonezone and airnorton on it... but from other sub forum.. i read that ZR system have high action which is hardly setup, due to the bridge restriction.. that is why i wanna sell off this ibanez (anyone interested? selling cheap)... the action is not TOO high... but not as smooth as my bullet strat XD ... tats why i prefer both my strat and tele.. than this Ibanez....

Hey fellow LYN member, I just very curious about les paul ultra-III... It is already lauching and available elsewhere except Malaysia? am i too outdated or there are no distributor for that so far in Malaysia? Or is it way overprice for an additional nanomag pups for acoustic?

Anyone tried the ultra-II can give some comment? how is the dynamic of that acoustic give ? is it vibrating your soul? or is it a just dead "electro-acoustic" sound? and is the stereo good to use? or is it just an over design feature??

I couldnt find any thread for this "special" guitar, so i guess someone could start flaming and reviewing this guitar here

Overkill with the guitar?

Dear fellow LYN, i wanna ask some curious question. Maybe all this start with the issue of $$$ MONEHhhhh~... anyway... I played guitar for 5 years now and i CAN easily differentiate a nice guitar and a not so nice guitar.... i mean the feel and the sound/tone...

but now ...i going to get a Farida Brand... but since i cannot try on it... i believe on words and reviews. I tried the D8 myself and i am impressed by the D-8 but now as u see.... my choice is between D-10 and D-52... one around rm8xx... one around rm2xxx include postage.... that is heaven and hell price diff... but... with my experience.. is that 2 guitar have very big gap in between??? make it simple... "price vs performance ratio"... how to elaborate in term of it...

I have the budget to go for the D-52 which is a full Solid top,side,back guitar... compare to the D10 with solid top but laminated side and back.

any suggestion or review about it???

Farida D-8 VS Farida D-10

My dearest guitar phreak and dude here, here is a short story about my guitar playing. I've played guitar for about 5 years but mainly on electric, and I have 4 electric guitar so far, (GAS) shhh~ hahahaha... then NOW i am just about to start to learn acoustic. I own a brand called the "Vantage" Made in Indonesia acoustic guitar, a 3/4 size dreadnough. AND YES! I know is a crap rubbish but I bought that for rm50 second hand from my friend ... where he just put in his room dumping aside... I kelian the guitar then i take care of him....

NOW is time I wanna upgrade to something better. and few days ago, i went to my local shop, I tried all the takamine D series, Fender, Martin, Yamaha, and end up I FALL IN LOVE to a brand called FARIDA D-8. That is one "unknown" brand to me. hahaha... but who cares, as long it sounds good rite!...

NEXT, i search online here in lowyatnet and found that a forumer called "ZidaneChan" who sell Farida in a good price.(at least better than the local store offered me). So I plan to buy it online. The D-8 and the D-10... I tried D-8 at the local shop, and they dont have the D-10. But in term of SPEC wise. D-10 is better with Solid Sitka Spruce top.

SO just like my title, anyone played both of them and have some comment? I know sound and tone is subjective but just give me your opinion.

P/S: Anyone buy from ZidaneChan before??? i not sure mentioning ppl nick here is good or not... but if u deal with him before... how is his service overall?

Page Could Not Load Problem

Guys, and all the expert here in LYN... i wanted to ask... i have one really weird problem here...

another comp of mine... previously are running normally, but since after i moved... this comp cant surf using ANY of the browser(chrome, mozilla, IE,etc). I can PPS, i still can MSN chatting. Everything are just fine except i cant suft net using any of the browswer.

In this house, i have 3 computer... the other 2 are working great...everything are just normal... but just 1 of this comp... i cant operate the browser.... showing "Pages could not load" after a moment i type in the address i wanted to go...

anyone can help me here to identify my problem??

[WTA] Dimarzio pickup

Guys, I am playing for quite a long time already and since i bought my S670FM I love the guitar very much except i still can't get full power from the tone and output.

I was inspired by John Pettruci's tone and i really wan to mimic the sound of his tone. Heard that he is using the Dimarzio Air Norton on the neck for the sound...

My question here is, if i want to mimic most of the tone he use. Should i change the Neck to Air Norton or the Bridge to Tonezone? which pickup will be use the most often in his tone. I asked this because i have the budget to change ONLY one pickup currently....

So anyone can help me with this??? Which pickup will give me the most out of the change from the stock.

hey there guys, i got an evo 3 which is a low end spec but its enuf for me... i bought it at rm99 around 2008 april

its already a year and my speaker spoil le.... i plug it in...open but no respond... ( should be the transformer burned )

so i planned to buy another one but i'm out of money... so anyone know that where i get a normal subwoofer??? so tat i can plug in my 2 satalite on...

i tried the other 2 small speaker which is working just fine....only the main sub woofer to the power supply is spoil.. so can i get other branded sub woofer then plug in my evo3's small speaker in???

and if can... anyone recommend me where to get a cheaper average subwoofer??

Fender AND Squire

Hey there, after much reading from wikipedia and so on thru out the net, i found out that Squire is actually manufacturing Fender guitar, just like any other manufacturer that copy strat, tele, and so on.

But what i've read, Squire manufacture Fender guitar with quality. For example they make those Strat with the same quality of material, same measurement and so on. So i bet the quality of a Squire will not be as low as all other replica or copy of fender guitar right?

Add on, those Squire guitar have the trademark of "by fender" on their guitar.

I myself own a Ibanez GRG270 and after that, since its cheap i bought a Squire Strat with sunburst colour which i love it alot...

after experimenting, i found that i like my Squire Strat MORE! my Ibanez have a Floyd Rose bridge, tremolo lock and more.... but my Squire Strat are simple with fancy 3 knob and 5-way switching. The feeling of playing, and the sound that produce, i can "feel" more on my Squire Strat. I play all kind of music, from chemical romance to eric clapton... i can get everything easily from my roland micro cube...not exactly the same as original song but at least its audible. Thats mean this strat is "free for all genre" to me.

So, guys, maybe i am wrong here... any guys giving more comment on Fender VS Squire Quality?? Or for those who having 1st hand of both Squire and Fender, its best to tell the real experience on the guitar : )

EDIT : p/s : Strat is the name for Squire because Stratocaster is reserved for original Fender. (correct me if i'm wrong)

AMD on Intel Mobo

my question here is, i am going to upgrade my processor and i am a serious gamer....

currently using HD4850... since 4870 on my monitor seems to be an overkill....

so... i am planning on AMD processor on my MOBO...is it possible??? since AMD processor run faster on game rite?
