Microsoft Error?

I was logging into my computer. I was waiting for all the programs to start up before doing anything. Then suddenly, a blue screen popped out. It says blah blah error, it's got something to do with my driver. I don't understand that so I restarted my computer. I know I should've written down the error.

The first restart failed. My computer stuck at the BIOS screen or whatever it is. (sorry, noob here) I switched off everything and unplugged some cables. My printer and speaker in now unplugged. Luckily, everything turned out to be alright and I'm surfing LYN now.

A window appeared, 'Microsoft has fixed a serious error', it didn't say what, and asked me whether to send the report to Microsoft or not.

Well, I just want to ask is my computer okay now? Is there really something wrong with my drivers or is it just some sort of software (Microsoft) error? I've been downloading like crazy these few days and I burnt a DVD. This couldn't be the reason for an error, right?

Tin Whistle

I want to buy a tin whistle for my friend as a birthday gift. May I know where can I get a decent one? My budget is around RM100 or probably lower.

Thank you.

Eye Problem

I've astigmatism for both eyes but they're not serious, the power's around 50 only. Well, that's when I got my spec a year ago.

Lately, my eyes' condition got worse. I can't stare at the monitor longer than 30 min? I'll have to strain my eyes after that. Especially at night, the screen looks too 'bright' for me. During my tuition just now, my eyes feel everything is just 'too bright', lol, I don't know how to say it. It's like all the light is shining straight into my eyes.

I suspect it's my house's poor lightning, it's either too bright or too dim. But no one in my family complained.

I sleep quite early and I think my eyes get enough rest every night. Why is this happening? Should I consult a doctor? Whenever I tell my mum, she'll just say I used the computer too much and that's why. However, the same happen when I'm reading in my room. Is my eyes sensitive to light?

------------------------------------------------

I think I've found the problem. Visual stress, that's why I couldn't stand bright lights and the monitor sometimes. Below are some of the symptoms when you read.

* words breaking up; words joining up
* letters muddling
* three dimensional movement
* movement of surrounding words
* movement of words at the beginning and end of lines
* words "falling off" the page
* blurring of print - closely spaced small high contrast black on white print causes most problems.
* Letters changing size
* Doubling of letters, extra letters appearing at the end of words.
* Letters fading or becoming darker.
* Patterns appearing either in dark print or white spaces. Sometimes described as "worms", "rivers", or "waterfalls"
* Illusions of colour: blobs of colour moving across the page, distracting the reader or obscuring words completely, or highlights of colour around letters or words
* Tiredness
* Nausea
* Dizziness
* Discomfort or headache
* move close to or away from the page and frequently change position
* frequently look away from the page
* skip words and lines
* lose their place and sometimes use their finger
* rub their eyes frequently
* blink excessively or flutter the eyelids
* show reluctance to read and write

Copied from here.

I think I'm not the only one with this problem. Should I get a tinted spectacle? I downloaded a screen tinter programme and my eyes feel comfortable looking at the screen now. Where should I go to for the checkup? An eye hospital first or to the normal optical shop? How much would the tinted lens cost? I would probably have to pay myself, my parents don't take things seriously. I don't think my school will allow me to wear tinted glasses..

Daniel Hope at MPO

Hello.

I'm planning to watch Daniel Hope's performance in MPO on the 25th. I want to ask about the time. The papers (The Star and New Straits Time) stated that it starts at 3 pm but MPO's website stated that it starts at 8pm. Anyone has any idea?

BTW, what should I wear? No jeans, slippers, etc are allowed.. Is anyone going??

Thanks.

Need Advices, Getting a New Dog Soon

Hello.

I'm planning to adopt a dog at the end of this month, after my exams. My mum didn't really give her full support, when she thinks of dogs, she can only relate them to mites.

Anyway, I'm determined to make this commitment. I promised I would take care the dog and pay for all the expenses. As this is the first time I'm getting a dog, I need some advice. There's probably a lot of thread like this, but I couldn't find a recent one.

I would like to ask,
- I'm going to adopt a dog, do I need to register it or something? What do I need?
- I'm not going to breed dogs, should I neuter it? How much would it costs?
- Do I need to bring them for checkups? How often and how much is the fees?
- Recommend me some dog food and shampoo?
- Finally, I'm going to get it a kennel so that I can make sure it won't wander around when no one's in. Where could I buy an affordable one? Or should I make one?

Any other advices? Thank you for your time~!
