Since the previous 2 lolita post are pretty much dead, I decide to open a new thread for Lolita fashion.

Simple facts about Lolita fashion:
Fact 1: Lolita is NOT Cosplay!
Lolita is a fashion and Cosplay is about role-playing a specific character.
Fact 2: You make a dress Lolita but not a dress make you a Lolita.
A Lolita dress alone does not automatically make you a Lolita. You're the one that suppose to coordinate it in Lolita way to make it Lolita style.
Fact 3: We call Lolita outfit as dresses.
It is really disrespectful to call Lolita outfit as costume. Lolita dresses are suppose to be made of good quality materials, unlike costumes that are not too keen about quality. Moreover, Lolita does not portray any characteristic.
Fact 4: Lolita is about modesty.
No mini skirts, no bikini, no obscenity!
Fact 5: Petticoat is the soul of Lolita!
A good petticoat that gives the basic silhouette of Lolita is VERY important. Without a petticoat, a Lolita is not complete.
Fact 6: There are NO such thing as age, size, skin color or any outer appearance boundary for Lolita.
Be confident with yourself!
Fact 7: Lolita lifestyle is just a fashion sub-culture.
It is not a must, but something to have fun with. You don't need to act cute or elegant while you're in Lolita. Behave like yourself, but just be nice!
Fact 8: Lolita Fashion is not only for girls!
There is a sub-style called Boy-Lolita/Ouji/Kodona that is more masculine rather than feminine like usual Lolitas. Generally, you wear frilly pants instead of skirts.

This is just a general idea for how much does lolita stuff usually priced as. Majority of lolita stuff are quite pricey compared with casual clothes, but you can try to thrift the items from local shop or sew your owns! I'm sure there are plenty of shops that sells loli-able clothes that you can put them together and make a lolita coordination. Remember, Lolita is about the make but not the dress! Don't forget the importance of the quality though ;

Physical Shop
It is pretty rare to be able to find a decent piece of Lolita dress locally. Majority of the "so-called-lolita-shop" does not sell lolita clothes that justify the price. They tend to be very over-priced and low in quality with the use of super-duper thin cotton/polyester/satin fabric, scary amount of raschel lace and horrible workmanship that causes the dress to fall apart in a few wash.
For now, the nearest physical Lolita store would be Black Alice in Singapore.
