Can't Format ext HDD

My 500gb Samsung HDD went kaput suddenly. The last time I used it to back up files in my laptop was a few weeks back. It worked fine then and I'm pretty sure I kept it safe (no water, magnet, gravity drop etc). But today when I connected the HDD it asked me to format it, and after 1 hour waiting it says "window can't finish formatting this disk", or something along the line. So where could I have gone wrong and how can I reformat my HDD? I don't mind losing the data there since it is only backup files.

Please help, and thanks in advance.

I can run the software and go online, but the display does not shows the speed and volume usage. I already got an sms from Celcom saying I had exceed the broadband usage limit, but it's not even half a month yet!

It was running fine in Windows XP previously, but my laptop was reformatted with windows 7. How can I correct the Mobile Connect Lite display? The program compatibility in w7 does not work, btw.

All and any help is much appreciated.

I Can't Open My Folders and Drives

Hello all. I have a problem with my laptop. Since yesterday, I can't access the folders and drives directly. For example, when I click on the folders shortcuts on my desktop (except My Document, My Computer, Recycle Bin and application shortcuts), a Search Window will pop up instead.

Same thing with the drives. On My Computer, I have to type the folder address (D:\Audio etc) to open the folder. Double-clicking will result in Search Window. Btw, I dont know whether this is related or not, but when I right click the drives, the option Search is in bold. Im pretty sure that wasnt there before.

Another thing: when I pressed ctrl+E to open explorer tab, the search option came instead. I had to go to View>Explorer Bar and checking it manually. I can open my folders from the folder list in the tab, but clicking directly will result in Search Window.

Shortly before this happens, I was playing around with the desktop icons, changing it etc. Could this possible effect my folders accessibility?

Please help me. Many thanks in advance.

Hello all. My Canon pixma ip19800 wont load the papers for printing. The sound inside suggests that the printer is printing on air, wasting my ink.

If I want to go private for a degree in Psychology, which IPTS would you recommend, considering the tuition fee, syllabus, living expenses/environment and such.

IMU
HELP
Sunway
Monash

I can't find the info related to fee and such at the unis, except IMU, which is RM75k+. Please help me, esp Psychology students. How is it at your uni, and what are your job prospect after graduating? All views are greatly appreciated.
UNIMAS or IMU

Let me put it chronologically, shall I?

- I apply for 1st, Psychology and 8th, Fine Art in UPU.

- I got offer for Fine Arts, UNIMAS.

- Father is willing to pay for Psychology at International Medical University, IMU.

- Father says: Art has no intellectual value, even kiddies can draw. Art graduates has no secure job other than teacher and lecturer (which I would rather not do). We can apply for loans and stuff.

-Me thinks: Kids can draw, but can they sell it? Leonardo da Vinci was no idiot. I can be a designer, artist, curator... I can provide online commish too. Going private = tuition fee (RM75k++) + living expenses = EXPENSIVE

If I want to live my way and still be anak solehah (instead of Si Tanggang anak derhaka, female version), what should I do? I would really appreciate if you can share your views on this matter. Thanks.

DIY External Hardisk

Since my old computer is expiring, I'm thinking of dissecting the cpu to salvage the hardisks. My question is, how to turn it into an external? I read once somewhere that you can simply use an old drive as ext hardisk by buying a casing and USB. I'm a hardware noob and would be very grateful for any help/tutorial from you guys on how to convert it step by step. Many thanks!

'Folder Options' and 'Find' gone

Okay, so my Win98 is seriously messed up. The CD driver and USB port won't recognise and cd/thumbdrive I put in. Now the folder options (View-Folder Options) is gone so I can't see my hidden files anymore. Plus the Find/Search (Start-Search) option is also missing.

Does anyone here know how to fix those stuff? Someone at Yahoo! Answer said it might be the work of viruses that wish to remain hidden from view. I'm no tech-wiz so I'm not sure if I'm supposed to install a new Antivirus or something. Help me please? Thanks.

Since I don't really have an ambition in life (much to my parents dismay), I did some research on the field of work that sounds interesting to me. I came across the following two listed among the 'Top 10 Cutting Edge Jobs' from a website I can't remember:

- Medical Illustrator

- Art Therapist

Do you guys know anything about the two lines of work? Does it even exist in this country? All my Googling seems to lead to UK-based jobs and degrees only.
