Mobile Soundcard

I'm getting a laptop with blue ray soon. And to make the blue ray experience better, I've decided to get an external sound card for it. I'm not really familiar with sound cards and all, but I've got my eyes on 2 x-fi series, the x-fi go & x-fi 5.1 surround. Is there any other better ones or will either of those suffice?

Gaming with WiFi

Anyone here having problems gaming with Wifi? Mine started after I changed to Vista. The vista wireless management will scan for new networks every 60 seconds, which while in game, will cause you super 999 ping lags. Though it will last only for 5 seconds or so, its very annoying and affects my gameplay. I've gone through the internet and only found 2 solutions. One is going into the system registry and editing it (which isn't recommended by most people for most people) and another is a freeware developed by some guy called Wifi Optimizer which stops the network scanning. So i tried the freeware and I'd have to say it works, on most games at least. Too bad it doesn't work well enough for my COD4. Anyone got any suggestions or solutions? I'm just thinking of getting a really long ethernet cable. I'd really hate to do that though because its a very long way to the router. lol.
