HALAL and Non HALAL Table

Im planning a company dinner and thinking if i should segregate muslims and non-Muslims into 2 different sections. When we segregate, i feel it's going to be odd - considering some group comes with multi race who wishes to sit together, but segregated. The food are generally seafood - the issue here is alcohol.

Alcohol is a must - so im wondering , if muslims are ok sitting together with their friends drinking next to them .

Company Accounts Holding monthly Claims

I’ve been with my company for almost 14 years and recently, I’ve been hit with a situation that’s left me fuming. I submitted a claim for around RM 54,000 for various expenses related to a China Factory Test I paid for upfront. These expenses included things like hotel, food, and travel for 11 people, plus 3 months of monthly expenses (petrol, tolls, phone bills, and entertainment). The total was about RM 40,000 for the factory test-related expenses and the rest for the other monthlies.

Here’s where it gets weird: the company’s finance team has now withheld RM 54,000 from me, citing things like a RM 900 JPJ fine (reduced to RM 450) and a RM 1900 MPPJ fine (reduced to RM 600) as reasons for the withheld the claims. These are small amounts in the grand scheme of things, especially when you consider the total claim.

To make matters worse, I feel like I’m fighting alone here. My direct boss (Executive Director) is aware of the situation, but he’s acting like it’s no big deal and hasn’t done anything to help me resolve this. The finance team seems to be imposing new requirements out of nowhere. After working with this company for so long, it feels like I’m being treated unfairly.

Has anyone here dealt with a situation like this?

I can move out of this company, but it feels like they win. Should I reach out to a lawyer? I fear, going to a lawyer will only result in them asking me to settle this amicably. The thing is, I usually get away with things by talking to the MD directly.

I dont want this. I want to win, while I can find job outside, I want this to escalate so bad, it results in her getting fired.

All Guys Buaya .....

Quote :

Fluff up your feathers, there are tigers in the forest

I was in Bukit Bintang last night and instinctively I found myself selecting a parking spot according to where I might least likely get raped. That was only the beginning of the night. I’d stepped into the neon lit Mardi Gras of sexism and oh, there was more to come.

Once I got out of my car I asked a guy for directions to a restaurant where I was meeting some friends. He didn’t know the place but held me up anyway so that he could grab his crotch and simultaneously stare at my boobs (oh look – it’s a miracle of evolution, it can multitask). So I pulled away from him and immediately once I crossed the street these two guys said to one another “oi, tengok tengok – belanja” (hey look – she’s giving us a treat) loud enough for me to hear it.

That wasn’t the end of it because after dinner I was walking with a couple of friends from Jalan Berangan to the end of Jalan Alor and my friend who was visiting from Australia was getting upset because I was getting stared down by clusters of men. Her being white, short haired and dressed in her boyfriend’s clothes didn’t make for the usual target whereas I was in a skirt. I kept my mouth shut, eyes forward but inside I was counting all the noses I wanted to break. I wanted to curse at them and put them in their place despite risking retaliation and normally I would except that there were too many incidents happening at once. Bukit Bintang is a very crowded area and you’ll never know the kinds of people you’re actually dealing with. In situations like these, a woman’s super power is to shrug. There are worse things that a man can do to you than stare like a pack of wolves.

For a while I could feign apathy in front of my friends but the anxiety only crept up on me later once I got home. I like to think that I’m old enough that things like these won’t bother me, but inevitably they do and it’s likely that they always will.

It’s been a while since I’ve felt this way because I rarely travel to these parts of the city alone but it reminded me of one weird weekend a couple of months back where for whatever reason, I happened to get accosted by married men on three separate occasions from KL to KK. With each occasion I was afraid for my own safety and I’m not easily intimidated. They were all taller, heavier and could easily overpower me. As far as they were concerned they thought they were flattering me. I don’t think any of them realised that they were actually scaring me. I myself would not show it because you never know whether that would work for or against you. I don’t think that any of them went home to their wives with a shred of guilt and till today they continue to unapologetically act as though relations between them and I are just fine.

Men like this (and I’m not saying all men are like this) are of all classes, races, religions. I’ve seen plenty of them. I’ve heard many other women’s stories, even from the matriarchs of my family. Doesn’t matter if these men are highly educated or laymen; long term friends or strangers, if we’re in private or public. It definitely doesn’t matter what we’re wearing.

These experiences of mine have nothing to do with me but all to do with how these men perceive women in general as play things. As a guy I know likes to put it, “I’m not objectifying women – I’m worshipping them.” They don’t realise that it’s this making of female objectification permissible that contributes to rape culture. Nor do they realise how what they might perceive to be compliments can be threatening to women that they don’t mean to hurt at all. This isn’t to say never flirt with a woman again, but you should be alert and stop if she starts looking uncomfortable or frightened.

Im the guy who tend to focus/stare at any pretty girls that passing by . Of course i tend to avoid , sexist remark though it goes through my head ... ( Fuiyooh Veloptious boobies

Men like this have this weird notion that they can see the women they’re objectifying but we can’t see them. They take no responsibility so long as they guard their mothers, wives and daughters. Not thinking that this is the exact same treatment that the women in their lives have to unavoidably endure because of their gender, no matter how much you protect, cover them up or curtail their freedoms.

Here’s the thing about ‘these guys’. We see you. We take note. We tell each other who is a predator and who isn’t but maybe we’re at fault for doing so quietly. Yes, we name names. We compartmentalise who’s a sleazebag and who isn’t. On certain occasions we know your partners and family because you’ve introduced them to us. We let you off the hook because it’s confusing trying to think of an appropriate response to inappropriate behaviour.

Despite this our patriarchal society tries to universally mask these problems by telling women how to behave, what to wear, how to deflect or protect themselves. They tell us which train carriage, parking spot, side of the road is ours and highlight it in pink. As if the colour ‘pink’ could magically fend us off from sexual harassment. Psychologically, the colour pink is associated with vulnerability. I hate being reminded that I’m vulnerable. We might as well draw a giant target over ourselves with arrows pointed saying “come and get me, boiz.”

We think that religion is the answer but religion only perpetuates patriarchy. Malaysians are more adamant now than ever on pressuring women in the media to cover up. Careers can be made or broken depending on whether female personalities will wear the headscarf. Earlier this year Mizz Nina’s pledged to perform only for all female audiences (erm – yeah, okay). Some women are even wearing burqas now and will sacrifice their mobility and personal safety just to don what people think is a portable anti-zina force field.

We give women the illusion, superstitions that if we were to do certain things – rub our tummies while patting our heads – we can protect ourselves. It distracts people from the actual problem. We maintain that there will always be creeps out there. We don’t fix the creeps though, we give women more ways to camouflage themselves and when you’re a predator, that just makes the chase even more exciting.

We groom girls and women to partake in daily rituals so as not to get sexually assaulted. Walk fast, look down, walk in the light, look angry. Fluff up your feathers because there are tigers in the forest.

When it comes down to it, we don’t shame men for gender violence or encourage the good ones to actively partake in its prevention. Sexual abuse happens to both men and women but statistically, men are the most likely to commit sexual assault. Still we don’t groom boys to protect others we do however, tell girls how and who to be. Men are the ones holding the gun and it’s women who have to learn to dodge bullets. We take away sex education, privilege men, objectify women in the media and shame female sexuality all in the same blow. Then we put the onus on the victim if she is abused, raped or falls pregnant out of wedlock. We omit men from this discussion instead of encouraging their cooperation because women’s rights are thought of as women’s problems, not society’s problems. We also discount the voices of male sex abuse victims because for some, sexual abuse is something reserved for girls and women.

We inject fear into women, which further establishes our role as prey. We enable the hunters through our silence and call men the stronger sex on the sole basis of their physical strength. We consciously award them these positions of power and call it ‘evolution’. It’s not. It’s patriarchy and it can be destroyed.

We like to think of men as protectors because it’s too much to bear feeling hopeless over the fact that the very people who can protect us best can also hurt us the most. That’s why we blame the victims instead of addressing the core of the problem. It doesn’t occur to people how f***ed up this is until you catch a security guard staring at your girlfriend’s ass.

I have to consciously make a decision not to let these things upset me because it zaps my energy. I have to tolerate and condemn rape culture in the same breath because I don’t want to worry for myself. I don’t want my family to worry. It’s embarrassing having to admit that I’m vulnerable because I don’t want people thinking they need to ‘take care of me’ when really, it could happen to anyone. Even other men.

I’m well aware that these experiences aren’t exclusive to me. Therein lies the problem. The least I could do in situations such as these is to remind people in my life that this is this is what the ‘normal’ female experience is and it shouldn’t be.

Tonight reminded me of why I stay amongst friends, why I need feminism and why people who say they don’t believe in gender equality therefore they won’t fight for it – are f***wits.

If only they knew – that there are tigers in the forest and all we can do is fluff up our feathers. " [[/B][

Sos http://feistgeist.com/2014/08/22/fluff-up-...-in-the-forest/

Short version :

1. Feel insecure when guys check her out .
2. Girls should able to wear anything and feel safe .
3. Angmoh > Malaysian guys ( Not all )
4.Gender Violence blame the victim

I am one of those guy who look / stare at pretty girls . Whenever I walk down along bukit bintang , I do almost every time stare the pretty girls passing by . Extra focus given to angmoh girls walking braless ( visible nipple ) . Most of us will ...

May I know , if ladies here would feel differently if the guys checking you out are good looking . Say , if you are walking in a ballroom and bunch of guys in suit check you out. Would you feel the same ?

OK recently a friend of mine posted in FB saying that the Limo driver insisted him to pay additional RM 10 because his house is not where he paid for at the counter . I read the comments and I thought it is probably the systems problem .

Few weeks later i flew to china and on the way back while queing for KLIA limo , I saw an elderly women cut the line to the counter asking the casher to update her location from Puchong to Kuala Lumpur . According to her , the Limo driver didnt want to drive her since her place is located in KL and not Puchong . She mentioned to me the apartment name and I know it is located at Puchong and not KL !

Later I paid for my place which at THE Zest, Bandar Kinrara . I was planning to fetch them back home from my place to save some cost . The casher checked and costed about rm 67 .

We took the limo and half way back, the Limo driver claimed that my location bandar kinrara apartment is in KL . Apparently what i paid for is around PJ which is around Taman Sea & SS2 .

Lucky then i had friend living around taman sea who could fetch me back .

After going through this issue with some of my colleague , this is considered norm in Malaysia.

Any take on this ?

Summary : Malaysian Limo drivers charge extra than what the should from the customer .[SIZE=8]
