Tweaking old Mi Box 3

Hi guys, need some directions or advice on Mi Box 3.

Back story is I bought a Xiaomi Mi Box 3 a couple years ago, installed some free IPTV apps on it. Free stuff doesnt come good, so couple months later the streaming experience is shit and even the tv box itself is laggy. So I sort of put the Mi Box 3 away and bought another tv box by friend's recommendation. The Mi Box 3 is collecting dust since then.

TLDR, my old Mi Box 3 is laggy, I want to "clean" it up and install some good IPTVs.

1. I have a bit of experience of flashing custom recovery and custom ROMs on my phone, but I did some search and realised I couldnt find any custom ROM for Mi Box, unfortunately.
2. I see KODI is everyone's hero here, do we have China live channels on Kodi addon? Parents love China live channels.
3. Im using unifi 50mbps, but still having lag for live channels on my current tv box. Is VPN needed for smooth viewing?

If the steps to clean up the Mi Box are too long, I dont mind being directed to the source.

Streamyx dynamic PPPoe to Static PPPoe?

Good evening guys

like the title said, how do i set streamyx dynamic pppoe to static pppoe? im using a Dlink DIR-300 wirelesss router. i want to set opendns with it, i followed the instrustions in opendns.com but i realized that they need static ip. Although they have the dynamic updater, but still in my router's web interface, where i set up my internet connection settings for the router, i can't key in primary/secondary dns addresss for dynamic PPPoe mode! The primary/secondary DNS addresses is only available for Static PPPoE mode.

so, do i need to change my dynamic PPPoE to Static PPPoE? or there's another way to do so?

tq in advance
